Jeselynn

standing...

'well if we are all ready..' moving from the table 'please follow me.'

'If you see anything that you might need. let me know, I want us all to be well prepared'

grabbing me bag I move towards the door and wait for the others to follow..

Smiling i had the barmaid a handfull of coins and tell her to pay off my tabs.

'I have horses and gear and there should be plenty of game to catch as we go to add with our food rations.. ' i spoke.

Perrin checks the table to make sure that he has not left anything behind. He will be sad to leave this small town, it had been too long since he was around so many people. But the call of the forest and the trail was singing in his veins. He follows Jeselyn to the door of the Inn, and out into the sunlight.

Edge

Finally we're moving. It was beginning to seem as though we'd stay here for months. I get up from the table, leaving my plate empty and follow Perrin to the door, looking back to see if Halia is following.

Jeselynn

Walking out the door and to the south.

'We need to go to the boarding house near the south gates..'
talking to the group ans walking down the street.

'i am not sure how you all feel about horses. I have bought 6 war stallions' and 2 smaller pack beasts. ' i spoke

'when we enter the forest we might switch to tamed unicorn, or pegastus'

'both would talk 5-10 days training to ride, or we might just keep these, as we travel.'

'lets be on our way.'

picking up my pace and taking long strides towards past the water fountain.

I follow the others out of the inn, jese is talking about horses
'I have my own animal - nothing special and I'm not that fond of it - I'm happy to switch to one of the war stallions but I'll need to make arrangments for my horse to be kept or sold here' I say

Jeselynn

as we walk past the fountain, i feel as if someone is watching me... eyes following me.

'that would be a great idea, whatever you decide, we could keep it with us and sell it in the forrest to some of the grey's we will be going to meet' i suggested...

'they might pay a higher price, or be willing to hold it for you too.. '
i went on 'they care for animals fairly and well'

moving along all the while. now standing in front of the boarding stalls. pulling out metal tags and checking the numbers..
'1, 2, 3, 7, 10, 11, 13, and 15 our stalls'

Perrin

Perrin has never seen Unicorns, or Pegasi before, but thinks that they would make interesting mounts. He shakes his head yes to the idea of a war stallion mount. It would be much easier on him than walking. He takes the tag and goes to stall 15 , he opens the door and sees a huge black stallion. Its musculature is much defined under a silky black coat. This stallion looks strong enough to support his weight with no problem.

He approaches the horse slowly, putting out his hand for the horse to smell. The horse puts its nose up to his palm, snorts once and moves closer. Perrin has always had a way with wild animals, they can sense a kindred spirit in him. Perrin takes the saddle and tack and begins to put them on the stallion. When he is finished he puts his head up against the forehead of the horse. "I will name you Darkstorm," he says to the stallion. Darkstorm whines at the mention of his new name.

Perrin puts his pack on the back of the saddle and places his scabbard along the side of the saddle within easy reach. He keeps his axe on his back. He checks the knives in the sheaths on his forearms and is satisfied that he is ready for the journey ahead.

Perrin takes a big black stallion - probably the biggest there. I look along the row of horses and pick out a slightly lighter animal than the others, quick and intelligent looking, a chestnut with a white blaze on one shoulder. I walk inot the stall to make friends
'I'll take this one Jese' I call over my shoulder

I'd picked up my old horse from the inn and I now start to transfer belongings from one animal to another. It will be good to ride something well trained again, all I could afford before was a half trained mare more used to farmers girls riding barebacked than real trekking.

Edge

I follow them to the stables, but wonder if I truly intend to leave Maddy behind.
"Perhaps it would be wiser if I take my own horse," I suggest. "She's been my luck through many journeys."

Jeselynn

looking into the #13 stall i looked at the horse.. looked towards 'Edge' and nodded, and the waved my hand and chanted a few words..

grabbing the reins and pulling the stallion forward it was solid grey like a shadow and just as silent.

'come on Hakril, time to leave' i spoke..

if we are all suited to the horses.. lets go pick up the trail rations and visit the shops to get what we will need.

Perrin vaults up onto the back of his stallion. It can easily support his weight. He says "I have all my supplies, I will wait for you at the northern gate of the town. Come meet me when you are ready." After saying this , he starts his horse into a canter to try and get used to this magnificent animal.

I grin as I watch Perrin ride off, impatient he may be but i can understand it and after all on these horses who wouldn't want a gallop?
I swing up onto my new horses back all my baggage is packed and I've added my old horse to the pack train. A sudden impish desire to startle perrin comes into my head and I urge the stallion forward, I may not be half as strong as either of the men but one thing I was taught to do and do well was ride;
poor Perrin hasn't a chance of reaching that gate before me, I spent three summers in the plains catching and training the wild horses and I was taught to ride as soon as i could walk.

I see startled faces as I gallop, and for a minute I forget everything in the thrill of the fast ride, bending low and giving my whole body over to the movement of the horse,
oooops barrow ahead, oh well lets see how well you can jump my beauty:
up and over without breaking step, this horse was good, almost like beign at home again racing against mark and the others. We'd done this a few times too race through the city streets at dawn or dusk startling the traders and hoping no-one would report us to our elders.

I catch up to Perrin and weave pst him in a cloud of dust, keeping him at my shoulder I race for the north gate.

Perrin has had little experience on horses, and is not suprised to see Halia pull ahead of him. He hates to lose at anything , so he kicks the horse to a faster gallop. He is closing in on Halia, but she is too good of a horsewoman for him to catch up. His horse has a hard time with the jumps with all of the weight that Perrin represents, so he slows the horse down, fearing injury.

Perrin catches up to her at the gate, and makes a salacious wink at her, acknowledging her victory in the impromptu race through the streets. They both smile at each other and Perrin offers her a swig of the wine in his wineskin.

I take a long swig of the wine perrin offers, the morning seems to be looking up. The race lifted my spirits and it would seem that the sun is even coming out.I lean over to Perrin
'how long do you think it will take the others to catch up?' I grin at him

Perrin

"I am not sure how long it will take them but I hope they get here soon. My stallion is frisky and ready to run , and as for myself, I am anxious to hit the trail. I am not used to being around so many people. I have always felt more at home in the wilderness than in any town. "

After they rested the horses for a few minutes, and had a few more swigs of the wine; the go out through the north gate and wait for the rest of the party to arrive so they can start the adventure.

I smile over at Perrin
'so what brought you to join the group, needed the money? wanted the adventure?'

Perrin

Perrin turns to Halia

"Well, I dont use a lot of coin for my lifestyle, but I mostly came for the companionship. I have spend most of my life living in the wilderness with mostly beasts for friends. But I realized that I was a man and needed to be with other humans. I loved the wilderness and yearn to return to it, but the call of my fellow man was strong and drew me out of the woods.

I also want to test myself in an adventure. I have always been able to take care of myself in a fight , but want to test my mettle against some stronger opponents. "

"How about yourself, what brought you here with us?"

Edge

I went with Jese, wanting to get the other items loaded and ready as soon as possible, so we could get out of here. I followed her lead and waited for further instruction.

Jeselynn

Mounting the horse and pulling it's reins to move . we headed to the back of the boarding house to a smoking room and a storage shed.

a stable hand brought the 3 other horses to the us and started packing the supplies.. counting off and checking a paper as he went.

I watched carefully and had him add another pack of salt and sugar. 'we must head to the butcher to get out trail and meal rations. they are made fresh and better than most' i said grabbing the reins of the other horses and leading us down the north road

I needed the money' I joke in reply to Perrin 'no seriously although I did need money at this moment I am looking for adventure'

I wonder briefly how much to tell,

'I left my homeland some months ago, I needed to ..... get away for a while, I had always travelled somewhat more than other people at home and I needed to be in lands that were unfamiliar - to see how I would react, how I would cope outside the safe confines of my own world. Not that home is always safe and settled but it is familiar and for me - well there are few situations I could come across there that I could not anticipate or get out of easily, I needed something different. I'm also suppoused to be gathering news and views to report back - it got me a passage over the sea to here and its what gets me my passage back - news of this continent and the outside world for my people back home'

I sigh 'its good to be reliant on myself for a while, I spent time as a soldier and I'm not the best in the world at taking orders' I grin 'I'm much better at giving them!'

Perrin

Perrin nods his head at what she says. She seemed to intelligent and driven to be a common mercenary. He , on the other hand, was best when taking orders. He offers her another swig of his wineskin and takes some bread out of his pack to offer some to Halia. He is getting impatient for the journey to begin.

Jeselynn

Pulling her mount to a slow trot, and moving north.

Stoping in front of the bakery and butchery shops. dropping off the horse, I yelled to the owners who were doing there midafternoon cleaning. 'have you my orders ready? I leave soon and need them now...'

Both nodded and pointed to the back of their shops.. between them was a alley and a small shared stock room.

Walking back there with 2 horses in tow. I Looked in and saw a piled stock with a blue token tied to it.. Starting to pack the horses and balance the loads. I count and see 4 small bags are extra. asking in question ' there is more than i ordered?' one replied ' you had requested a special order. it took us both to gather it all and so we took the extra money and got you some of the other nessities that your stuart requested you might need. you will I am sure.'

Nodding i agreed and finished loading.. noting the time.. nearly 4 pm I lead them back down the alley and mounted the horse. headed to the 'Firewater Inn' and tied the horses in the back stalls.

Perrin

Perrin gets off of his horse and sets it to grazing. It will be a hard journey ahead and it can use all the energy that it can get. Perrin sits down on a rock and takes out a whetstone. He takes out his weapons and begins to sharpen them again. A nervous habit that he has, he is religious in how sharp his weapons always are. He takes his armor out of his pack and goes over it , checking for any flaws or imperfections. Satisfied that his equipment is as ready as he is, Perrin pulls out his bedroll, stretches it out and gets ready to take a nap . He taps his bedroll gesturing to Halia that she can join him if she wants.

Perrin

Getting no signs from Halia, Perrin heaves a sigh and takes off his boots. He places his head down on the top of the bedroll, and falls off into a light sleep, dreaming of the treasures that will be in their near future.

Edge

I stay close to Jese, noting that we're headed back to the Firewater. Weren't the others waiting by the edge of town?
I don't ask questions. SUrely she knew what she was doing.
