I don't think any hard and fast rules need to exist. I think anything goes in general chat threads except bullying, etc.

I do think it's a good filter for people you may want to (or not) get to know more. Someone who has the emotional maturity and social intelligence to flirt right up to the line and then take it private vs someone eboning regardless of surrounding. I think people are free to do what they want mostly. And other people are free to feel annoyed or uncomfortable by it.

And shit, maybe I'm looking in the wrong places but I haven't seen any good flirting lately. Point me in the right direction.
