Gardening: Plants, Flowers, Veggies, Trees and All Things Green

Everything yellow cause of lack of water. No rain here since Helene came thru. Colors just not as pretty this year .
Weird. We’ve barely had any rain since July. No rain at all in 9 weeks, yet the colors have been really spectacular this fall.

But now everything is really crisping up.

There’s been a fire burn ban in place too:

Only a half inch of rain here in the last 35 days, but October is our driest month if you go by averages.Had 11 inches in September though.

But the color is coming on though.

I really hate the time change.

I had the day off, so was the only time I was able to break free at like 4:30 in the afternoon

Dark too soon. Pansies are trying to figure out to die back or put out new blooms. 70 yesterday, 65 today, 48 Thursday expected, then back to 70's. Mother nature on a tear.

Went to look at garden and plan putting it to rest for winter, pulled out some potatoes, 2 tomatoes, a watermelon. Green beans were trying to grow new vines. Temps have everything wondering what's going on.

Yeah. I’ve found November to be a very indecisive month usually. We cleaned out our garden last weekend. There were still a fair mount of tomatoes. Smallish and not bad but I’ve been eating them all week.

My wife took this picture yesterday. It is a phlox that found it warm enough to bloom. What’s interesting is that it is typically a July, warm month flower.

Today be colder and gray and rainy. We’re getting much needed rain.
