George Santos

I don't think he'll be recalled. That's a difficult process. He'll be put under multiple indictments before then and resign under some sort of plea deal. Unless he resigns before that, it will still be a long, drawn-out process, and he'll remain a gift for the Democrats that keeps on giving. And McCarthy deserves every indignity and reflection of his weakness and incompetence that comes with this.

That's rich coming from a Trump-worshipper. But hey, if any such evidence ever turns up, we can talk.
The Trump collusion hoax was a lie. The fact you aren't aware of this by now probably disqualifies you from further comment on the subject.

He might very well pardon himself and his family members before resigning.

Apparently it is not possible to recall an elected Federal office holder based on a few articles I've read.

Recall of federal officials

The United States Constitution does not provide for recall of any elected federal official. The option was considered during the drafting of the document in 1787, but was not included in the final version. Some state constitutions have stated the right of citizens to recall their members of the United States Congress, but whether it is constitutionally legal at the federal level has not been yet been ruled upon by the United States Supreme Court. One of the closest noted legal precedent is U.S. Term Limits, Inc. v. Thornton, in which the Supreme Court decided that states did not have the right to impose new terms, qualifications, or conditions of service on federal officials.[2]

Some states have released opinions and rulings on recall of members of the U.S. Congress. Attorney generals in Arkansas (2010), Louisiana (2009), Kansas (1994), Nevada (1978), and Oregon (1935) all issued opinions against the recall of federal officials. Conversely, the Attorney General of Wisconsin in 1979 give an opinion that state administration could not reject a petition for recall of a member of the U.S. Congress. In 2010, the Supreme Court of New Jersey ruled against federal recall and the Supreme Court of North Dakota also upheld an opinion by the state's attorney general against federal recall. Michigan courts stopped a recall petition against a member of Congress in 2007. A federal court in 1967 dismissed a case from Idaho where petitioners hoped to require the state to accept petitions seeking recall of a U.S. Senator.

i think this requires a 'post like santos' thread... might be tough beating his imagination, though

They could do a recall, but that's not as easy. There is something going on with his finances, but unless they feds could find something he's staying for the next two years where hopefully someone will defeat him in the next election. Don't expect him to resign or even drop out of the next election, sociopaths like him don't think they're doing anything wrong and will continue as long as they think they can get away with it.

...

Well, it was just a matter of time before a character like Santos showed up on the Republican scene. After all, lies and denial of reality have become the main planks in the GOP platform.

And, because the GOP refuses to force him out of Congress, someone new will emerge in that Party who will outdo even Santos in lying and putting the nation into a deeper credibility deficit.
