Frog.....you have this talent for making me think. Its a good thing. The one I have now was done somewhat for spite and somewhat as a statement of independence. I don't regret it, it was right at that point in my life. I had wanted a few others but now I look at that wish and analyze it, there is no logic to it, it fit with where I was when I was wishing it but now I have moved from that place. I suppose like you and several others something more tradtional is more appealing. Now I'm realizing that I don't need the extremes, but rather just to be comfortable in the feeling that I am at peace with the one I am with, loved, wanted, cared for and about, and that the person I am with can comfortably receive those things and more from me without feeling some loss to his masculinity.

As for measureable snow......down here if one person sees two flakes they close the schools and everything else. It amuses me to no end.

Kayte....its funny when you look back and wonder why you did what you did? When you look back from the vantage point of the strength you have gained you marvel at your past weakness but underneath that weakness was the strength you have today or you would still be where you were then, you would not have moved forward. I just love circular logic.

Irish....that means I don't get to wear the jacket since it has to stay up there.

AA.....good to see you, thanks for stopping in, do so more often.

You growl cause of snow.....I would be happy as a frog.

Noah wants to play in the snow, actually he wants to throw snowballs at me.

~snip~
It does take personal strength and confidence in yourself to be able to give away control, it takes trust to acknowledge that you will be okay and it takes respect to know you are safe.

I bet your aim is better. :)

Yes, I completely agree with you. I also know we all have to determine our 'hard limits'. And that they are not what love, and caring has anything to do with. :rose:

They are how far we are willing to go to please someone else while still not losing respect with ourselves. But the other side is, how far will the one you are with push you?

GG ~ Love that new AV !!!

He will continue to push as He has. We can't do everything at once :) (Thank heavens) He will push as that is what He does, very well.

That paper you are doing is a real pain, isn't it?

Afraid it was a pretty weak showing here on that issue. A liitle stuck to the grass. More sleet than snow. The little one would have been disappointed.

Yes Kayte, this paper is a pain in the rear.

But I will get it done.

Is it still snowing?

Oh, no GG. it tapered off and there is really no accumulation. Whew. I know you will get the paper done and it will be just fine. I am sure of it. :)

Afraid snow on the shore area is pretty much of a hit or miss thing, Lady D. Lake effect snow will fall like crazy & melt just as fast.

Sounds like snow in south GA, except it melts and turns to ice which no one can drive on so it just gets nuts around here.

True. At least here we are used to it. Well, truth be told, half the morons take at least one slippery day to re-learn it. And some morons in SUVs never do figure it that while they can go twice as fast as the cars, it still takes the same amount of time to stop.

Hey

Ok OK...I grew up in HOOKER oklahoma...the sides of our busses said Hooker High School... Not HOoker public school system... NOOOO the town capitalized on the name big time... LOL...

O well I suppose where I am at this point in Life I needed something to make me feel alive again. Peircing wise I mean. Plus the friend of mine that did it..gave it to me as a gift.. Personal gift yes.. but since he has so many of them I could not resist.. Had been thinking and wanting it for a little while.

The frog is getting punchy...

Moon ~ I suspect an ice cube up the butt would have done the same trick (making you feel alive) without all the after effects... LMAO... just joking!

Irish ~ down here its the most amazing thing. Most of the people on the road are yankees! It's the old "This is nothing, youse guys should see the snow back home..." bit. Then they get out and drive like damned fools and at the last minute figure out the snow has turned to black ice and then all hell breaks loose.

North GA (south of Altlanta northward to Tennessee) has exactly TWO salt trucks and only a two dozen sand trucks. We are really not built for snow or ice. When we get snow its only for 3-4 days. Ice is generally our big problem. It rains all day and then dips below freezing and then all they trees freeze, fall over and knock out the power lines...

I lived in Colorado for awhile and by comparison this really is quite funny.

Prince...I hear you.

Ice is fairly rare up here, at least the black type. I've experienced it, and frankly I'll take 12" of wet heavy snow any time.

And I've been in Baltimore when it got icy & watched them lose their minds. I can just picture it futher south.

But Sir Frog......thats when it gets fun. Move the mattresses to the floor in front of the fireplace, build a big fire and snuggle, play games, make hot apple cider in the fireplace, just enjoy life at a slower pace for a bit.

I think I like the sound of that.

Yes, it is funny. I'm with you, I'll take 12" of wet snow any time... I'll even shovel it but the ice you can have!

Maybe I should find me some catholic Latina and move to South America... LOL that could solve a number of problems!

gg ~ matress? Honey, I just throw a nice blanket on the floor!

moon ~ Hooker High! I bet you learned some tricks there!

Blankets on heart pine are not comfy nor are they warm. Call me spoiled, I like to be comfy.

I think a big king size mattress would be just fine. A nice low fire and those I love all around me. I doubt life gets any better than that.

Although I might suggest we keep a Honda generator out back to make coffee & keep the fridge running.

gg ~ comfort indeed!!!

Irish ~ yes, but they are no where near as jealous as the latinas! But, the best woman I ever dated was a latina and worst mistake I ever made was not marrying her! Hot tempered and jealous but worth every ounce of trouble! Just the wrong time for me... sigh...

If we must persist in passing around high school stories, here is mine.

My senior yr of high school, time for the year book, the company my father ran purchased a full page ad with the stipulation that my picture be in the ad. Thats all well and good, problem was the company made rubber parts for cars .......so here is a picture of me with **** Rubber Manufacturing Co. below it.

Suddenly I get "hey Dawn, when did you start advertising"

As I'm not entirely certain the statute of limitations has expired, I will not relate any of my high school exploits here.
