Germany online thread on Lit BB

I guess there will be two milestones on this thread, ee's pg debut as well as rex's 8 grand.

Better to pm in the pm than have pms!

I still remember those first posts here when I had to realise that one needs 100 to get an AV and I went like
" huh, can I ever do 100 ?"

Hi! Thanks :) I have lived in Southern Bavaria and in Frankfurt...and while I was there, I spent alot of time driving around, taking in the beautiful sights and just enjoying life there. I love the people, the food, the scenery...what's not to love? :D

I somehow hate the thought I lived at the Starnberger See while you were in ... um ... Bad Tölz and we could have met but never did. :D

I take it you or your SO was stationed there.

Thanks, hon. I really enjoyed the Return of the King...it's as good as you said it was. The mushy parts were great.;)

Wonder how those elves and dwarves sounded with German accents. Perhaps they'd be right at home with your folklore.

The sloppy wet ones are my favorites.

Hi Bent...nice to see a new face here.:)

I really enjoyed the architecture on my trip to Frankfurt. I loved the mix of modern and old buildings on just about any street I walked, not to mention all the statues. Walking around the Romer Platz (yes, I'm missing my li'l thingies over the 'o') felt like being in another world for me.

And I'd never been in such a big train station!

For me, I miss the Christmas Markets the most. Those were always so nice. I remember my first one...that is where I first had Gleuwein (sp?)...just the smell of Christmas is better...and I love Rottenburg!

Yes indeed, cmas markets are fun
As far as i know the best are Nuernberg and Luebeck, both overcrowded though.

It's Gluehwein (wonder if you guys could see "ü") - as in glowing wine.

Rothenburg ob der Tauber ? That's even better than that German thing at EPCOT Center, Orlando - lol

:D

Funny jab at Rothenburg :( I really enjoyed it there...yes, its pretty much commercialized Christmas but where else can you see an 8 ft tall Steif bear? ;)

I think Nuernberg was the first one I went to...but I'm not positive.
