Hey, gun nuts!

How could having an abortion, or protesting the war in Iraq or Afghanistan, place anyone in "a similar boat," as the circumstances I just described, and you quoted?

extenuating circumstance... I'll leave you to your own thoughts to see if you can figure it out.

And hopefully you're not going to say "'merica, love it or leave it" anytime soon...

The lil chihuahua has nothing to add, he just likes to be noticed.

veteman has said time and time again that people that don't have jobs, or take welfare are lazy... Of course, that's not actually true... Not to mention that he himself is one several forms of welfare himself.

He also claims to hate the state he lives in, but he doesn't move. So much for "love it or leave it".

It's easy to point the finger at others... it's not so easy to be self-reflective and realize that sometimes other people's circumstance factor into decision making, and force them to do things that they might not normally be comfortable with.

I got invited to go deer hunting again and my dad still has the 12ga I bought last year. Sitting in the cold and getting my hands bloody doesn't seem to be as much as it did growing up. Hell, it didn't seem fun then but everybody did it so you did it. The meat is good but I can live without it. Plus it appears I've lost my knife. That sorta breaks my heart. I can't just buy a new one, that wouldn't be right.
A real bummer.
This started because the thread reminded me of that 12ga and turned into something sad. Fuck you guys.

Made me think of my knife. I've had that thing for 25 years. Can't imagine what happened to it but it's nowhere to be found. That makes me sad.

In August, I found the hunting knife that I got when I was 9 years old at my father's house. I thought it was lost, but it turned up as we were going through a mountain of junk.

It's entirely possible mine will show up. It could be up at dads but he says it's not and I seem to remember packing it up and bringing it home after the hunt last year.
I'll be bummed until I find it. One of the very few mementos I've kept from lifes adventures.

Oh now I see, I can appreciate that. I also give vett a pass on silly shit because he sounds just like my old man "the right is always right, left is evil rawr". You can't undo 50 years of indoctrination, so why bother? Obviously growing up in that environment I have picked up and appreciate a lot of right wing views (gov needs to fuck off because they fail at everything) but I also hold a lot of left views (what biz of it is the gov what I do in my bedroom etc) soI take what I can from everyone and roll with it.

Like a BB sailing around the inside of an empty boxcar, the convoluted thought of our Lil' Chihuahua searches fruitlessly for rhyme or reason as he attempts to wax philosophical. Please be patient with him.

I have a chihuahua....perfect security dog, a mouse couldn't break into my house without him (and subsequently me) knowing about it. Good dog. LOL I try to be patient with everyone, it's rare I find somone with absalutely no valid views.

Anti-government sentiment is hardly the bastion of the right wing.

The right wing is inherently authoritarian.

That said, 50 years of indoctrination was veteman's choice. No one forced him to take the path he did, and become an unquestioning partisan.

Perhaps he'll grow up eventually...

I kept my Marine Corp issue Ka-Bar and put it away many years ago. Went looking for it and couldn't find it, I thought it was lost. Man was I disappointed. I grumbled about it for years, so much so the wife ordered me a brand new presentation model. Never used it though. One day a few years ago my son built onto his house and as I helped him move some of his stuff into it. I found my knife in the back of one of his closets. Boy was I pissed! But happy at the same time.:)

That's what I'm missing but the kids didn't get it. I may find it eventually, I may not.

The right wing is inherently authoritarian.

Really? Yet it is the left telling me:

I can't use certain words

Who I can hire

What health insurance I must buy

I must wear a helmet when I ride my bike

I can't own certain guns - or in some cases I can't own a gun period

How much I need to pay my employees

That I must give a portion of my earnings to the poor

I can't smoke in public

I can't spank my kid

Etc

AND is doing so at the point of a gun - i.e. do this or go to jail.

And you're telling me that's NOT authoritarian?
