I have a Bersa Thunder .45 that I carry. It's inexpensive, reliable and eats any crap ammo you throw at it although I run some expensive Hornady rounds and other high end ammo..

Several military schools/courses, 2 civilian pistol courses I took, one marksmanship with a focus on accurate speed/reflexive shooting, the other was purely a tacticool/combat pistol fighting course.

1 Carbine class, taught by the guy who wrote the US Army's book on CQB/MOUT after the Somalia "black hawk down" debacle and my old 1SG. The man is a treasure trove of tacticool info. Triple tabbed triple wings and a scuba helmet....guy is a monster.

Then there was the school of hard knocks, 4 years and some change of combat exp taught me a good deal...

Oh and my CHL course....I don't really count that joke as a proper class though.

computer told me exactly how far my targets are and I marked them on my range card. I also have a ballistics calculator/doper and a note book with formulas and "How to" should I ever need to get real old school.

My M1A/Rem700 I can get a good range reading with my 1x6 b/c it's got an awesome reticle like that and I'm just really familiar with both....within 5-600m...all I do is adjust sight picture and send it.

No. They make a .40(I think... and a .45. The .45 is a real hand cannon I tell ya. Small enough for carry. Little on the bulky side but I'm happy with it.

The .380 is a real nice piece. Cheap too and the reviews say it's a great firearm. It's a pretty gun too.

I'm not afraid of anything much, and I'm told I have a thicker than average Johnson. Never done a comparison.

A gun is just a tool, to me, a thing that you use when you need to. It's also a fun hobby, going to the range and practicing. A lot like golf, I think, the concentration required. I see carrying a gun as pretty much the same as the reason I have insurance for my health, my car, and my home. Same as why I carry a first aid kit and have a jumpkit in the car. Same as having working flashlights. All stuff I hope never to need, but also all things that when I need them, I want to make sure they work well and I have the necessary skill and training to use them.

I think it was Liar that nailed the fear thing; people who are anti-gun are scared that someone's gun is going to kill them or someone they love, and people who carry guns appear to be scared of violent encounters or something. Fear's not part of the equation for me, personally. It's about logic and preparedness.

Both nice pieces. Does the Bersa feed well? My PPK/S drives me up a tree at the range. I found some independent reloads that it likes to eat, but the place I got them can't get projectiles, so I have to be conservative, and everything else I've run through it fucks up like every dozen rounds. I just bought a few boxes of Speer Gold Dot, supposed to be the shit, and it doesn't like them either. Pain in the ass.

Take it to a gunsmith dude. My bersa has eaten a thousand rounds with no FTE or FTF's and I ran 100 rounds of walmart russian ammo through it too.

Yer gun needs some adjustments or fine tuning.

A gun that jams every 12 rounds is useless and dangerous.
