How do i get an avatar

It's OK to work slowly through your post count goals, if you want to.

I've seen post whores hit a thousand posts in 2 or 3 weeks, but the thousand posts may add up to two thousand words and four thousand smilies.

I've also seen members with low post counts, whose posts I try not to miss for their insight and wisdom or humor.

The beauty of Lit is that it is big enough for members across the gamut, there's room on the bell curve for all of us Lit folks, the tortoises and the hares!

can't wait to get an avatar

I have noticed that when I am not logged in I can see everyone's avatar, but when I log in I cannot them. Is this normal.

It just means that under your account, you have the settings changed so avatars are not displayed.

To fix it, click on the Quick Links drop down menu in the blue bar (to the left of Log Out) and select Edit Options. This should take you to your settings, and one of the sections will say "Thread Display Options" - you can alter your preferences to display avatars there.

Yup! I go for quality, not quantity, that is not to say that there isn't a lot of fun to be had in the process.

And I know what you mean about tuning in to see what some folks are posting.
