I did similar, discovering I had…I've enjoyed this thread. Please indulge this memory of a selfish 9 year old ...
Discovered that year where my parents hid our already purchased Christmas presents ... unwrapped - third floor attic with a bolt lock too high for me to reach. Found a way and snuck up while my parents were out. Found, as you can already guess, the game kerplunk. TBH, I've always hated the game. Too much work tediously putting the sticks back through the holes in resetting the game.
Fast forward to Christmas morning and opening presents. I picked the one up, shook it and looking at my mom and dad and defiantly told them that the present better not be kerplunk because I hated that game. Selfish brat I was!
lol! we would dare to see how many friends we could sneak in and get away with it. got caught once and being a small town where everyone knew you, we wasn't allowed back for a whole month.were gonna go to the drive-in tonight. We can only bring 363737267283 people with us. Who’s coming?
You have a Torino wagon? That's awesome. Woodgrain on the sides?Any good drive-in movie memories?
I was probably 6-7 and saw The Poseidon Adventure. Maybe 73 or 74. Scared the shit outta me.
Also recall seeing, Herbie the Love Bug, Bedkmobs and Broomsticks when I was really little. My parents would dress us in our pjs.
Remember seeing Raiders of The Lost Ark when I was maybe 12. Remembering being slack jawed at how great it was.
Saw a few more but those were the ones that I recall. Despite being the birthplace of the drive-in, NJ, doesn’t have any anymore.
We did take our Torino station wagon to a drive in w our kids and a neighbor w theirs during covid to a drive-in, in PA.
Most drive ins today broadcast the movie through their FM bandwidth...so if you got a decent system in the car it is almost as good as a theater. Plus a cooler...lay the seats back...all right all right all rightYou have a Torino wagon? That's awesome. Woodgrain on the sides?
There's a drive in not too far from me. The wife and I go occasionally - we bring in booze and food, you can't do that at a theater, it's fun.

Didn’t come across Santa’s gifts but did find the candy that Santa always left along with his gifts. Needless to say as a 7 yr. old, I ate way too much of that sweet goodness. Ended up sick and still got a whipping lol! This is how I found out Santa was really my Mom and Dad..
First two pics are our car. Has all of the extras, AC, shoulder belts(!), rear facing jump seat, luggage rack, rear spoiler and the best: 351 Cleveland block engine. It’s a fast car.You have a Torino wagon? That's awesome. Woodgrain on the sides?
