I’m so old I remember…

I’m thinking it was 1978 I switched on the Radio and accidentally discovered the very first episode oh HHGTH …Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy.

Far superior to the books, tv and film, I still find it historically funny, and am the proud owner if the CD box set. Even though I don’t have a CD player 🙄

Seventies variety shows:

Johnny Cash show: this was a good one. Have some vague recollections of watching it.

Sonny and Cher. When they got divorced, it seem like my own parents got divorced. Seemed devastating.

Donny and Marie: I’m embarrassed to say I really enjoyed this when I was a kid. She was a little bit country, he was a little bit rock n roll.

I also remember reruns of the Smothers Brothers show.

Glen Campbell show. My mom had such a celebrity crush on him and Teddy Pendergast (both RIP). I think that’s why my dad hated it so much.

She Na Na - I never liked this show, but my dad loved it. “It’s when rock n roll was really good.”

Mc Cale’s Navy
Sounds a tad like “I Dream of Genie”?
More facts? Started from a drama??

Flying Fickle Finger of Fate
Nothing has changed since the first one!

I was looking for a later one about microwaving a 500(?) lb chicken

I remember running around town as a kid in California on the Fourth of July with a bunch of friends and an arsenal of fire crackers and bottle rockets that someone’s uncle got for us.
