Illinois People Out There?

Hey Mysty...I know..where did our chef go??? Damn him anyway...

BTW, I enjoy some sushi, more of the mainstream things. I've tried some of the more adventurous sushi types, but they didn't agree with me.

I love the flavors of wasabe and soy, tho...Mmmmm...

Can I cook ?

Yes and no,,,,

My job requires some late hour/odd hours, so dinner is almost always over by the time I get home,,so being able to fend for myself is a necessity !
On the other hand,, I'm pretty low maintenance when it comes to food, so the combination of the late hour & the end of a long day usually dicates the meal,

So, yes, I can cook, but rarely do,,, of course if suitably motivated,,, you'd be amazed at what I can dish up...

In the meantime, I remain the king of the drive thru window and the peanut butter sandwich :)

Cooking

Speaking of cooking, in the next few minutes I will be cooking a pot of chile to enter into a chile contest this evening. Anyone want to taste? Just have to relearn cooking a bit since this is my first time making it on a gas stove.

I'm a good cook, just don't have the time to practice much.

Piper. I talk to Mark occasionaly on aol, but I haven't in a week or so. Maybe he is on vacation, or something.
Hey, you getting any of these snow flurries in Chicago? I liked the storm last night, I slept like a baby, until it got COLD this morning.
The thermometer on my porch right now reads 29. I HATE winter.
Being able to cook isn't a requirement. To myself, tho, nothing is sexier than a man doing household chores. When my guy starts cleaning, or cooking, I am all over him. Maybe its the fact that he is doing it to make my life a little easier, or maybe I just like watching him do " womens work"( NO, women do NOT have set chores, it is an expression! ) Who knows.
Hello to anyone I missed and forgot to say Hi to.
Mysty

Piper, I love your new AV! Very nice.

Mysty, I can answer for Piper and myself. . .yes, the temps are falling, the garbage cans are rolling and the snow is swirling. . .

When will it ever end???????????

::heavy sigh::

Hi all..

Yes, it's definitely Brrrrrrr! out there. I can't believe this weather. Yesterday it was thunderstorming in the morning, 61 by noon, melted a full foot of snow by sundown, and today, again, thunderstorms in the morning, but this time c-c-c-old weather, and wind. And Snow again!!!

Don't blink...you might miss the tornado wafting thru your front yard....

(j/k)

Mysty, darn that Mark! I haven't talked to him in ages. Bop him in the nose for me if you see him sometime soon (grin)

StarX, thank you for the compliment on my AV. I was nervous about putting it up. I still don't know if I like it or not yet. You are the first person to say anything since I put it up late last night. I might keep it around for awhile.

Hugs all, stay warm!!

Speaking of Chili, how do you make yours? Chili tends to be sort of a passion here in Springfield and Taylorville. Even a couple of national champions from here.

I like it best with a lot of tomatos, sweetened (and thickened) with brown sugar so that you get this flavor of sweet and then a kick of hot. Come to think of it, that's how I like my women too (with or without the tomatos).

Never seen anyone spell it like the country though.....;) :D

I vote two thumbs up for it. Did you make it yourself and is that you? Very distinctive.

Hello twodogs. I can't seem to remeber if I greeted you properly, or not. I thought I pmed you, did I?
Reformulate, welcome.
Piper, Star the wind here tonight was like a knife but we only had flurries. Watch I will wake up in the morning to a foot of snow.....

Hey it's good to here from you .
How is life with you good i hope.?:) :rose:

Been awhile....

Mark here. I had to change my user login because the mark_8675309 stopped allowing me to receive PMs...and no matter what I did, it wouldn't let me. So, here I am with the new id.

Hi everyone. It's been eons since I've posted anything on lit. I've not been on lately...well, not on lit anyway. I've been trying so hard to figure out how to make a connection though. I really want to make some new friends. Especially close by! I even thought of posting an ad on Yahoo personals....I don't know though...I'm a little chicken to do that.

If there are any ladies out there who'd like to meet a young, handsome, romantic, eager man...who live in the IL area...who want to be totally spoiled in everyway imaginable...who would love to flirt and go out and make out and do some completely insane things...you should msg me. :)

Well, think I'll read through the posts & see if anything interesting's happened since I was last here.

Later,
Mark

common theme

Well, as I sit here reading through all these posts...and the blasted connection is SO SLOW today...and nobody else is on...

:(

I'm pouting now. At any rate, the common theme here seems that the men outnumber the women greatly. I guess that means we have to share....several men/woman. Is that ok girls? Can you handle several men at one time? Whatcha say Mysty?

I'm still thinkin' that I'm the designated cook. That's just fine with me. I especially love to cook when it warms up. I like to get a huge amount of beverage, some really good meat, take the grill onto my deck by the pool, turn on my favorite tunes, and just make a night of it. If it gets too warm, jump in for a quick dip, maybe float around for a bit, then back to cooking....MAN, that sounds SO FINE right now. WIll this cursed cold crud ever end?!?!? I was thinking of tanning this year. I don't know though. I'm not exactly Mr. Savage Tan, ya know!

Where the heck is everyone today? Thoughts of the Donkey singing on Shrek come to mind: '....cause i'm all alone, there's no one here beside me. My troubles have all gone, there's no one here to guide me...But ya got to have Frieeends.....' Everybody sing.

What kinda music should we listen to? What should I throw on the grill? What's the beverage of choice? For me, depends on the mood, but: I kinda like the Cheesey 80s tunes, though some of the alternative stuff from the summer of 2000 works...I like wine coolers...or some beer if it's butt-cold....how about some ribeyes...or ....

damn, mysty's here!! kewl...

see ya'll later!!!

((((((((((((((((Mark!!!!))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Damn, dude! I missed ya! Come back and play more often!

I love an evening like you described, casual, pool, grill, MUSIC. I love 80's music, alternative, some of the newer stuff isn't bad. Power ballads were my thing for a long time. Puss Rock we used to call it. But I loved it.

I can't wait for summer...

BTW, pop over to the Midwestern thread, there are a few other women that post there regularly, too.

Hugs!

we could do some 70's party rock, have tiki torches, t bones and ribeyes on the grill, assorted beverages, ( bring your own) and then swim afterwards!
Hey Piper! how's it going?

Mark - pleased to meet you. You seem to be very popular. Do I place my requests now or later for summer grilling. I have a teriaki flank steak that is to die for. My traditional family dinner is flank steak, a baked potato, Broccoli with Holandaise Sauce and a fresh spinach salad with my Grandmother's French Vinigarette. Damn, now I'm starved and craving it, and I can't cook again until Friday.

Beverage - Killian's Red
Tunes - Jimmy Buffett and Beatles during cooking and swimming. Spanish Guitar music for eating.

And to tell you the truth, I feel the same way about Mysty. Something very appealing there...... :D

Ok now you guys are giving me an ego here. But hey I LIKE it keep it up. :D
This pool party is sounding wonderful. Are suits optional? And may we bring friends? Male and Female of course. ;)
Mysty:kiss:

POOL PARTY!!

OK, the party's on!! Who's game? There has to be a minimum of at least 1 to 2 girls per guy though. Sorry, that's my only rule. And the cook gets certain priveleges....but hey, we can discuss all that later......

:)
