Seriously, I have been thinking about the av, but I don't know where to even start looking for one, or how to post it. Tips anyone?

I was in the same boat as you, Mysty. I raced ahead to get my AV, and when I could put one up, I had no idea what to use. So I used a cartoon joke that someone passed to me, that I resized. Then I used a cartoon specifically drawn for me a few years ago. This current one is a pic of me, that I've altered in a fun way.
If you are looking for a specific something, I suggest you go to www.google.com, and use their image search engine. Turn the adult filter off, and use a few keywords to bring up pics to look through. I read that on one of the boards awhile ago, google has the largest database of pics from all over the net. I suggested this to a friend that was looking for pics of old western "saloon madams," the kind with feathers in her hair, corsettes, etc. She was able to find something she liked right away.
