Impeachment not going so well?

The Democrat Party should be thinking about how the Republics will treat the next Dem president (in 2032 or '36).

You think they'll forget? Don't you know the emoji usually attributed to the right?

The Dems could bend over backwards and give Trump everything he wants, and the next Democratic president would still run into nothing but contempt from the Republics. It's what they do, end of story. Which is why there's no point in the Dems trying to reach out and play fair now. (Not that I think there's anything unfair about impeaching a president who has been openly using the presidency for his personal gain, and bribing foreign leaders to find dirt on his opponents.)

You make an EXCELLENT case for banning both parties, imposing term limits on every elected and appointed position at every level of government and lifetime service limits in ANY government capacity at all (in other words, after say 10 years at most in political service, go get a job).

Sometimes I wonder what the world would look like if we applied the same logic to other professions that we do to public service. "You're a doctor with 25 years' experience? Sorry, I want fresh blood in town to do my heart transplant."

I think the US needs a third major party, not banning the Reb, and Dems.

You really think that? It could be, but I see Trump as a person hating to lose.

You're right that trump hates to lose, but when you see the news clips and photos of the trumps with the Obamas at the White House in the days following the election result trump looked like the proverbial deer in the headlights. You could see he was thinking, "what the hell happened", " how did I end up here". Definitely looked like a surprised puppy.

I especially liked this phrase:

By proceeding with your invalid impeachment, you are violating your oaths of office, you are breaking your allegiance to the Constitution

So did I, Runternehmen, so did I. It really shows just how clueless and unfit for his job the man really is.

You have to be joking if you are equating a surgeon's skills with the likes of AOC.

Oh yeah. She's a freshman.

You have to be joking if you are equating a surgeon's skills with the likes of Pelosi.

A high school class could come up with better written and more sensible laws than we get from the morons in DC.

If the economy weren't doing well and people were out of work I might actually agree with you.

Interesting how you resort to insults when you realize you're losing the argument.

Trumps letter to Pelosi is even worse than his letter to the Turkish president.

That will be studied and wondered over by historians for years to come.

#165 above.
It is interesting.
trump resorts to insults all the time, makes no difference to him.
It's interesting that you would use, "resorting to insults" as a derogatory insult. Given your chosen ones preference for the style.

I believed that for a while, but now I think of the expense and BS of the two we have. We don't need more. Chucking both parties into history's dumpster may be part of shrinking our government down to something we can afford.

If the economy weren't doing well...

How do you figure?

National debt continues to soar, sooner or later you or your children will have to pay the piper.
The trade deficit fundamentally hasn't changed, despite the hardship caused by the trade wars. Trump said the annual loss of hundreds of billions was stupid, the world was laughing at the USA.You're still losing hundreds of billions. The world is still laughing, although for different reasons.
GDP tanked at 1.9% in the last quarter, trump discribed that as disastrous for the economy.

So tell me, how is your economy doing so well?

Based on your ratio of topical:insult posts, you'll be hopping on the Trump Train, then.

I was shocked, shocked I tell you to find that you are statistically the foulest of us all

Ziggins!

Wow. That's very insightful.

I honestly and sincerely apologize for my earlier insults.

You are certainly right about the need for "shrinking our government down to something we can afford."

Unfortunately, part of that cannot include abolishition of political parties. Despite the Founders' hopes to avoid them, and thus no place for them in the Constitution, banning political parties is inconsistent with both the letter and spirit of the First Amendment and therefore unworkable in a free society.

I reluctantly agree, but it warms the cockles of my heart to dream about it

Named parties or not, human are tribal by nature. They will bond and group together by acts and thoughts. Even without stated affiliations, groups of politicians will vote alike for reasons other than agreeing or disagreeing on the bill at hand.

Our local government fell into that with some voting for or against something just because others did (' I'm opposed to whatever he's for ').

The one segment of government I believe should be mandated as non-partisan is the Judiciary. The courts MUST rule based on law, not 'that's my buddy over there'.

Economy? I maintain we're in a false one based solely on greed. Numbers DO lie and we're in for a helluva mess someday. I just hope my clock has stopped ticking when it happens, cuz it's gonna be UGGGGGLeeeeee. Maybe not MadMax ugly, but maybe not too far off.

Can't argue about debt. been preaching that for 15 years.

Ideal GDP rate is between 2% to 3%, were are presently at 2.1 %/ 3rd qtr an increase of .1% elevated from a first qtr 2%. 1.9% was an estimated number.

Stock market is at all time highs.

Unemployment rate 3.7%, all ethnicities participating at lowest rates ever, Labor participation rate is steady at 63%

Trade deficit dropped 2.7% to 55.2 billion and unemployment dropped with it, you do the math.

Current fed fund rate at 2.25%, at least we're not in negative territory, we have room to move should inflationary pressures develope.

Our bond yield has un-inverted, short term rates are now below long term rates.

Investors gobbling up mortgage back securities, fed rate at a goldilocks position,

Trade deal with China close to signing, USMCA on the table, clear sailing ahead, with a stable bond rate, fed rate stable at 2.5% recession is a pipe dream.

I'm pretty happy with things, my 401k is soaring!

Really? Best you can truly say is that Trump hasn’t fucked up the recovery yet.
