Let's Discuss Deal Breakers

#10. You get invited over to their house for a home cooked meal. You like them and it's time to close the deal. The dinner is delicious and you bring your plate into the kitchen to put it in the sink. You compliment them on a great home cooked meal and they say thank you. As you go to throw something away you open the lid to the trash and see take out boxes that your dinner clearly came from. Do you say anything? Is it a deal breaker?

Nope, however I'd be more than happy to cook from this point onwards.

It's actually a pretty thoughtful gesture in my book

I'm so curious about this. The dishonesty factor doesn't irk anybody?

You thank them for the "home cooked meal" and they still don't say anything?

That was my first thought too! I could care less if they actually cooked for me...but they should have come clean when I complimented them. If they are willing to lie about something that small, what else will they lie about?

Exactly!!

The dishonesty would intrigue me.

Would mark them down points for getting caught, though. Would likely tell them to use the outside garbage next time and gauge response.

And that username above is awesome.

Nope, not a deal breaker.

I agree, I actually find it kind of endearing.

Is it a relationship deal breaker if:

#9. They're always checking themselves out in most mirrors and reflective surfaces that they pass.

It wouldn't be a deal breaker for me, but it probably would be form him. If he's that into appearances he won't like me for long. I put my makeup on in the morning and that's as good as it gets. I might reapply lipstick, but that if I need to be cute for something later in the day.

Not a deal breaker, I would assume he was trying to impress me. It's what you do in the beginning of a relationship. If it happened several times, I would eventually call him on it and then we'd chuckle and I'd help him decide where to order dinner in the future.

#11. You are at dinner with them and in the middle of conversation they reach over with their fork and take food of your plate without asking.

Not a deal breaker. I would just do the same thing back. 😂

HOT BUTTON. RIGHT HERE. Do NOT take food off my plate. Happened once, and I just slid my plate over to him and said "it's all yours now" and ordered something else. He was dumbstruck. But he never did it again. So, while not an automatic dealbreaker, it may have been if it continued.

Don't take food off my plate and I won't take food off your plate. Not a deal breaker though unless he can't understand this.

I don't know that it would necessarily be a deal breaker, but it would certainly weird me out. If we'd been dating a while, no big. My SO usually ends up eating half my food.

But if we're talking someone I haven't even had sex with? Yeah, no.

I would say something. How they handled that might be the deal breaker.

Not a deal breaker for me at all...I actually would take it more as a sign of the relationship moving to something more intimate. If he feels comfortable enough to do that, to me it's a good sign for the relationship.

Not a deal breaker. I would still be able to stab them with my fork. :D

Um, why didn't he pick me up at my house? How is he planning to finger me in the back of his classic Pinto in the parking lot of Taco Bell after I finish my enchirito? Am I going to be forced to finger myself on the way home in my service pickup with no power steering??

Fuck. :(

That's why you buy a manual. Those gear sticks can give off a good vibration in 2nd.

Not a deal breaker, assuming he flashed a playful smile when he did it. I would just take something off of his plate in return. Or possibly launch a french fry at him if I had one.

(I like the new AV, by the way. Cute!)

I think this is situational.

Are we talking about how, amazing my steak is? Have I orgasmed while eating my fries? If so, it's more understandable.

If it was a random grab, it would depend. Fries or something I'm less territorial about. Bacon? Hands off! :p

Overall, no. Not a deal breaker

Geez, I didn't think about bacon. Yeah, that could get a boy hurt.

You stole the words right out of my mouth.

This question has been the most interesting yet. I feel like I've gotten to know you all so much by the way you've responded.

Not a deal breaker, but "without asking"? "in the middle of conversation?"
That seems...odd???

I mean, like, I can totally see the following:
me: "how's your X?"
Her: "oh, it's ....."
Her: "your Y looks really good, how is it?"
as she reaches over with the fork and them maybe, "can I try it?"
Like, as in she's kind of reaching or even stabbing as she tries?

But like...it has to be "in context."

I mean, suppose we are talking about Fermat's last theorem and whether he really did have a sketch of proof, considering that Wile's proof uses things like Iwasawa theory which had yet to be developed (and frankly is still pretty tough math), and in the middle of that discussion she grabs a shrimp from my surf and turf? Yeah that's just weird...;) :D

I'm totally grabbing your surf and turf now!
