Please pick up your feet when you walk.
If you say "um" more the two times while expressing a thought, please pause, think about what you're going to say and start over.
Fake yawns when you're bored.
People that don't use both a fork and knife while eating. Your finger is not a fucken scoop!

Lol totally guilty of the "um" thing. As can be heard in my new voice post. ;)

I am very quiet when I walk, I will sneak up on you. So I purposely drag my feet so you can hear me coming

Apparently I have a lot of bad habits :(

I didn't listen, but now I'll have to and tally up the "ums." ;)

I have kids, boys at that, so I have eyes in the back of my head. I'll sense your plotting and sneaking long before you put the plan into action.

Apparently I have a lot of bad habits :(

I'm really quite nice and wouldn't scold you in public. :D

I think I have more quirks that normal behaviors.

Some from just this week:

Don't bring me a hamburger without ketchup. If I have to ask for ketchup, I already hate you.

I always drink orange juice while I'm eating pretzels.

I'm really good at picking things up with my toes and I like to show people. And I will choose that method over my hands whenever socially acceptable.

If you meet me in real life, I will probably ask to trim your eyebrows.

I sleep in a bra.

I hate taking showers and baths but like being clean. I'm a super fast showerer.

I hate the smell of cinnamon.

I'm terrified of lobsters and crabs.

I love to watch people cook tiny food. I spent hours watching videos of this the other day. Including one where a guy "fed" small food to a Venus fly trap.

This was a fascinating read. Orange juice and pretzels sounds pretty good.

I pick things up with my toes too. (For Pmann: my dirty hippie monkey toes).

I'm going to have a lot to get upon my full return.

In the mean time, carry on.

*drops a nugget* Does fear of failure make you try harder or not at all? Common convention is that you should allow yourself to fail in order to achieve beyond what you might otherwise. But consider this, can you ever recover from an epic failure?

I've been guilty of the "Why bother, I'm just gonna fuck it up" school of thought. But I'm also a huge believer in not just second chances but multiple chances. That's the biggest myth in life, I think: you only get one shot. Well, no, if you mess up get up and try it again until you get it.

You're up early, NRJ. And forming coherent thoughts, too! ;)

I don't like to fail. I take it as a personal challenge. I'm competitive that way. So I usually try again.

Good morning everyone.

When I was younger, I studied piano with a guy who became a world class concert performer. I was always terrified of playing to an audience but felt happier if I had the sheet music as a backup. He believed that performers should play from memory...

The music school I went to had an end of term concert for families and friends, held in a large concert hall. All the students went onstage in turn, and their teacher would turn the pages of the music for them.

When it was my turn, I walked on and sat at the piano, and then waited for him to join me. He remained in his seat in the audience. The awkward silence got longer and longer, until eventually one of the other tutors came to sit with me to turn the pages.

I knew that he was trying to force me to play from memory but it backfired. I went to pieces, played so badly it was totally embarrassing for me and the audience, and I have never played piano in public since. I was 18.

Count that one as a failure.

Awww this story touched my heart. Thank you for sharing it. Maybe that wasn't a failure, but a learning experience? Now you know that you don't like the pressure of playing on stage?

I would think the awkward silence would be the worst...

Personally I have a few favorite quotes I use to approach this subject-- one is that quote "What would you do if you knew you could not fail?" When I answer that question honestly, it guides me toward what I want to work on-- that i fear failing at. I also like to think of that old Japanese proverb "fall down seven times, stand up eight."

And then there's this one:

my personal motto is: "Nobody likes you, everybody hates you, you're going to lose; now smile, you fuck." It's from the Last Boy Scout. But for me failure is ALWAYS an option, in fact most times it is my natural state. So I try to start at zero, and work my way up. But still I fail. And I'm just stupid enough, to get up, again and again, and keep trying.

And I know that this isn't a healthy way to look at myself, or the world, but it's hard to work against a lifetime of experiences. So I became fluent in sarcasm. It's my defense mechanism. So bite me! :D

Good morning, lady! And yeah, I woke up super early this morning. I'm weird like that sometimes. ;)

I'm really loving the answers to this question. You guys are all wonderful, deep, strong people. I'd hug you all if I could. And spank Trekka, just because. :p
