Papa Chained seems to be out today. So, a simple question:

What is your worst personality trait? What is your best?

What is your worst personality trait? What is your best?

People are supposed to have goods traits, let alone "best"?? *looks around* Go on. You're pulling my leg now...

Okay, I'll try this out...

My best trait is my humor, and my worst trait is my ...corny humor? Uh, I think I broke the question.

My worst- I've got the empathy of the Grim Reaper in most instances. However, if it's important, I can be appropriate. The problem is I don't get that often.

My best- Unlike Rainshine, I have so many bests and not worsts. *straightens halo* 👼 She would agree, I'm certain. :D I'd say my best quality is I'm fun to be around. I'm not boring.

I'll agree with your worst trait...

;)

I kid, I kid.

I try to remain humble (no really, I do...) so I will defer my best personality traits to those who know me well...

My worst? Maybe that I am prone to over committing my time and energy to too many others such that I fail to devote the time I should to some...

Sometimes it's difficult to figure where the line is. Your worst traits could be influenced by your best ones. Since you're asking pmann, I will attempt to answer the question without straying too far.

My worst personality is that I can be unforgiving, although I find this to be true once I've been pushed to the limit. I am impatient to a fault but I've also learned how to temper that and force myself to be more understanding as the need arises.

The best? I am sensitive and I care too deeply. It's almost never obvious not unless I make a decision to let you in.

It's a teeter totter between standing up for yourself and caring for the people in your life. Someday, I'll figure out the best way to balance both.

Worst- I can be detached and aloof sometimes

Best- good sense of humor. Seriously, I'm funny as fuck. And I try to be nice to people.

Best - well, I'm just me. Never been one to try and shape myself for others.

Worst - well, I'm just me. Never been one to try and shape myself for others.

Not saying that I'm selfish or inconsiderate, but someone has
to like me for me, I'm not about to change myself the sake of attention of another.

Back to asking the question bs answering.

Role reversal can mean many things to many people. But essentially it's all about getting you out of your comfort zone. The thrill seekers search this out while others avoid anything that might shake them out of their comfort zone for even the shortest of seconds.

Do you mind tossing the keys to another and letting them drive, allowing control to slip through your fingertips and accepting whatever comes next?

Usually not. I've been in control in most aspects of my life for so long that I almost don't know how to give up control. Raising my kids, running the household, at work... it's all me, usually.

But I have to say, as an almost single person, I think a lot about how nice it would be to "let somebody else drive" finally. With a trusted person, I think I'm ready to give up that kind of control.

Hell, about half the time I am wishing someone else would drive.

I'm good at teamwork, so I generally have no real problem with whatever role I am cast in, whether it's in a work relationship or personal relationship. However, in one of those best/worst traits if you're leading and you stumble or fuck up, I will take the wheel. This works great when a person really did stumble - and not so great when it's just that I think they stumbled.

I tend to enjoy control in most every facet of life. I also realized that this is not the best thing for me at all times.

Not usually. I prefer to provide leadership and direction rather than detailed control. I'll happily read the map, suggest stopping-off points and admire the blue shift on the scenery as we hurtle towards it together. :D
.

Normally, no. I'm not one for giving up control. I'm independent and stubborn and I like to do things myself (so my best friend tells me frequently).

There are certain situations where the reverse would be acceptable.....but that's a different subject entirely.

Is this a thinly veiled attempt to root out some new subbies for ya, PapaC? I'm on to you... :D

Pmann, dude, do I need to start googling the Frozen memes *again*?! I mean, I will, because Let It Go is an awesome fucking song... And Frozen is a great movie...

Ima go watch Frozen now.

I don't get these references.

I like to drive, but I'm a good navigator too. As long as the driver is reasonably safe I'm happy to give up control, but I like to share the driving duties. It doesn't feel equitable to me if someone else does ALL the driving.
Besides, frankly, navigating is a form of control. Lol

The disappearance. You're chatting with someone over an extended period of time, weeks, months, and then one day they are no longer around. It's not like they've just stopped talking to you, it's like they vanished. You wonder if a spouse or partner has found out, if they've grown bored of you, or a maybe something happened to them. But you'll never know because they're just gone...

Now what? Are you upset? Is it just a part of Lit? Do you mourn? How do you handle the sudden disappearance?

I'm a mom, so my first reaction is worry. Are they ok? But generally if I've been chatting with you for an extended period I have your skype or email as well. I'll try contacting the person that way and if they still don't respond there's nothing I can do. It's one of the perils of getting attached to someone when you can't contact them through regular means.

It happened twice; both times they returned after a while. Explain and move on.

Interesting question Papa.

For me, I don't worry about it, move on, think about them with fondness until I see them again.

Lit, for many including myself is for fun. It is me time, play time. If something IRL keeps me from having that time, I dont Lit. If I am just not feeling it (stress or otherwise) I don't Lit. I am not interested in being here, a place that should be fun, and being a Debbie downer so IMO it is better to stay away. The guy (or girl) who wants to cyber fuck me has no use for my RL drama. Here and RL are two very distinct places for me and RL will always take priority.

I think about Elli often and I love hearing through the grapevine she is well. AF said Suzanne left so I hope all is well with her as well. :rose::rose:
