So what's the Litiquette for a thread that appears to need life support? Do I let fade away on it's own(like it's been doing) or keep propping it up with thought provoking topics in hopes it has a rebirth.

I for one, like the thought provoking topics.:)

Ok I have a question since there seems to be a nice mixture of men and women in here. Why does it seem to be more acceptable for women to be needy little sleaze buckets, then the men?
You know the men... begging for a slutty girl to PM him so they can go off in cyber heaven cause he just needs to use you for his release.. (and yes we roll our eyes)
Then there is the women who say the sluttiest thing possible just for the attention and shock value.
Why do women roll their eyes at desperation, and men attack that same desperation with a raging hard on begging to be used?

I'd like to think women typically have some class about being a slutty bitch, cause face it, we all have it in us.
But seeing many women posting on here, that theory flew out the window.

Not trying to generalize either sex, cause there are plenty super amazing guys and gals on here.

I don't really have an answer, though I do get a chuckle of looking at the "Requesting" PM thread from time to time at all the guys.

But really, I don't know. If you had asked me this a year ago, I would agree that most women have more class and the guys were just hound dogs looking for a release, but this site has open my eyes a bit. Most people just want a good time, or to live our a fantasy or two. It just varies I guess, depending on the women and men on.

Me, I know I have my moods, and there are times when I just want to chat and laugh. Again it varies.

Oh well, like I said, I didn't really have an answer, just wanted to comment ;p

Oh i admit i flirt big time on the threads but don't feel that i am slutty. When it comes to my PMs most of them are serious conversations. Have one i have become dear friends with. Hate the weekends because we don't get to talk and complain about our spouses.

But I'm betting you know what I mean. I can't say I've seen you ever saying stuff just to get attention.
Ask a girl what kind of panties she's wearing. Most will say the color and style and maybe feel. The attention grabber says "a blue g string sliding up my ass, and rubbing against my clit" cause she knows that 10 guys will now PM her begging to take the place of that tiny blue string.

I've wondered something similar too. Why are men referred to as mouth breathers when posting lewdly, but when women do it, it's encouraged?

Perhaps desperation in men is not seen as sexy by many women but for many men if a woman displays a hunger for sex it is a huge turn-on. There seem to be a lot of people on here with some kind of control kink, disproportionately more so than is admitted in RL, and there's a slut dynamic in many control games.

I love the thought of having to be classy with sluttiness ;)

I always assumed ^^^ that poster was a guy - seriously. I frequently look back over a grrls posts because I just don't believe it's a woman posting and they often make a little slip and give themselves away. However it's only to be expected that a sex site will attract unusually, ( chronically? ) horny women.

But which ever sex is making those posts is skewing the normal balance. I mean, guys are always saying 'Why can't women talk straight - say what they mean - quit being moody' so when a woman does that, then the guys are all over her. Evolution pushed society into the stronger man doing the providing, the woman making the babies. I understand the guys reaction: men are hard-wired to shag as many things in their life as they can and spread their DNA. A woman has to be more selective.

Happily we reached a level of sophistication where women don't need men to grunt and go kill bison for supper but we still have a zillion years of natural programming to unpick if men and women are ever going to act as equals.

It's very early for this shit - I'm still on my first coffee. Can we talk about trolls next cos this is very serious for my first-coffee brain. :)

I think for some Lit is just an interactive porn site. The millions of hours of porn flicks that are made, very few are about classy women. It seems to be all about the sluttiest woman with the biggest chest having as many holes filled as possible while wanting a cum bath. That's what we've come to expect with porn so there isn't any surprise when it happens.

I think on Lit the expectation is the people will more tend to be who they are in real life but with a few less inhibitions. And when it turns into more of a porn movie it catches us off guard.

Oh there's a question Chainey! Can't a woman be a slut and classy? The ice is very thin here... :D;)

I think we need to come into lit with the tolerance and acceptance we expect of ourselves in real life. People are here because they want to escape, find themselves, have fun or be different. When we see someone posting in a way that doesn't seem to fit our norms we should just go "huh" and move along to where our little kinks live ;)

In any online community where sex is the subject you'll run into a wide array of behaviors. If there is such a thing as a proper etiquette for online communities, I would think it would include a wide tolerance for the incredible variety of human sexuality. But, of course, years of experience have taught me otherwise. We never escape our humanity - both the good parts and the bad parts.

Now, here are a few random thoughts:

Asking for what you want works often enough in life and online. You'll see the people who ask "Send me a hot PM" on every interactive site that I have ever seen. Why? It works. It may only work on 1 in 100 people - but sites have thousands of lurkers for every poster. Some people come to sites strictly for the cyber-sex, men and women. (Notice that the people doing this type of post never participate in the does it works discussions. They don't really care, because they know it does.)

As a guy, I am constantly amazed by the slut-shaming that women direct at each other. Men will participate of course, but over the years, my observation is that most of it is initiated by women at other women - and it always reminds me of the joking definition of a slut - "someone who enjoys/has more sex then you do"

I personally like the more descriptive posts in the variety of threads. Tell me details. I love writing and reading erotica (in general, I love the written word). If you're saying you had sex - give us some tasty detail, if you're describing your underwear, go graphic. Isn't the dance of language the motif of an erotica site? (My assumption probably.)

On Keeping A Thread Alive: Threads live or die based on a bare handful of posters throwing out content that people like to read (and subsequently comment on). Life or death of most threads is simply a matter of posting.

I have found this thread entertaining. So, I thought I would share some thoughts. Semi-random and otherwise.
