I thought my role was discussion facilitator, the handbook said nothing about actually answering them.
*Cheeks the by-laws* Damn it all, he's right!

And what pray tell, is the OP's answer to this morning's query?
Good morning Litiquette-izans ,
There's an old saying, "once bitten, twice shy" which I think everyone who's ever had an emotional attachment to someone here fully understands. How does your previous experiences with Lit love shape you now?

I fell in love fairy recently for the first time ever in my almost eight years on here.
Totally unexpected, really tore through my shield wall and left a big gaping hole to say the least. It was a magical time and I would not trade the experience of that time for the world. I still hurt over it though. We are good friends still and he calls me several times a week. He never ends a phone call without telling me that he loves me and every night his last PM before he goes to bed finishes with Anam Cara. In another life time it would have been a love written in history books.
Instead of hardening me though, I allowed myself to remain open and in doing so opportunity came by and I was ready. I now have a very satisfying relationship with my Sir.
All is well that ends well.![]()

I hope Photo is having fun right now with her guy right now (I am actually drawing a blank here....)I think with the things I've seen and been a part of here, I'm more likely to consider anything that happens on Lit to be a fling. It may last for a few days or a few weeks, but eventually it will come to an end so I might as well enjoy the ride and not let my feelings get hurt when the person stops responding. Its never gone to the next level, and right now that is NOT what I want anyways.Good morning Litiquette-izans ,

I can sum it up with one line:
My sword is sharper.

There is a happy story for the agesI hope Photo is having fun right now with her guy right now (I am actually drawing a blank here....)

Oh no. The Brit is a mighty, mighty warlord. Have me stripped and on my knees with the sparest of words. No force, just the merest request. Disarming with just a look. We will still be meeting too when I go to England the beginning of next year. Going for tea and scones with a proper English gentleman, get to hear his posh accent in person.![]()
"Love is a burning thing and it makes a fiery ring..."
I like most people as the default position. Lust, for me, is always present. Love is a far harder thing. In the times I have fallen in love, I have enjoyed a persons company immensely and then...there is an event...something unique to each individual, and I fall in love. As IRL, As Online.

Oh my...that's wonderful Serene!
There isn't anything "just" about a friend. A person you can call your friend is in your heart and always will be.Thanks, Thandi.
We are "just friends" now. (I hate that expression, true friendship is a wondrous thing)
But it will be good to see each other in person. Who knows, he might make it to the states first.
I don't know where to take him though! We don't have anything like proper English tea.

For myself the way I love my friends is as real as the way I love my lovers, maybe even more so because is seems to be able to weather more.
Every person I love teaches me something about myself. If I've been sorry for the pain of losing someone I love I've never once been sorry for having loved.
So how do you know when Lit like turns to Lit lust turns to Lit love?
So how do you know when Lit like turns to Lit lust turns to Lit love?
Like v. lust is an easy one for me - it's when I go from flirting to having actual fantasies about a specific person.
Lit love is trickier - 'love' isn't a word I use lightly, in real life or here. I find it a very powerful word, and in a medium of communication that is based primarily on text, as most of my relationships here are, I think words are incredibly important and should be chosen wisely.
Where does a Lit crush fit in here? Before or after lust? I wouldn't describe some of the relationships I've had here as love, but I certainly have felt crushy, gushy, giddy, etc. And longing and pining, and all sorts of other unhealthy feelings.![]()
