Hi- I found you from a link in nanowrimo's erotica forum. I had no idea there were so many like-minded people!

For nanowrimo, I'm writing (by hand) an erotic romantic comedy, heavy on the erotic. It's day 6 and I have 7735 words, and counting.

--SweaterGrrrl

Lo SweaterGrrrl and a very warm welcome:) By hand?? Hell you are the one!! Very best of luck to you, you'll truly deserve your win.

Mine just tuned really really...dark. Psychological shit. People with lingering traumas, adrenaline addicts, abuse, sexual deviances of the more unhealthy kind, drugs, lies and thinner and thinner masks of normality.

This ought to get interresting. :D

12228 words and counting. Another thou today before the count deadline, or I'll get grumpy.

Cool...

;)

And welcome sweatergrrrl... Enjoy yourself at lit.

Update done. :)

Some are flying, others are plodding along at a steady pace, some seem to be finding the going a little tough.

Whatever stage you are at, fear not. We aren't even one week in yet, there is still plenty of time to make up any lost ground. Who knows, maybe week two will be your flyer, or even week three or four.

In any event, at the end of the day, actual word count means very little. If you are finding that you are achieving more than you imagined you would, or if you are enjoying the hell out of the experience, however frustrating it might feel at time, you are still winning.

We all write differently, and each one of us will produce our own personal gems.

Keep up the excellent work, fellow NaNo'ers.

Warm welcome!
Nice to see that I'm not the only one who's writing by hand.

Well done Lou, Patron Twat of NaNo Writers.

I'm sure most people are way ahead of where they were at this stage last year.

Great work every one, as Lou say's it's early days, plenty of time to make the target.

Ahead of last year? Yeha, but I haven't even started over again yet....

It's way past bedtime, but I had a sudden bout of inspiration.
Wow, up to 12.440 words now.

Probably will look like shit in the morning. :D

Hi SweaterGrrrl, welcome and do look around.
This is a really nice place, well, most of the times. LOL

Pops,

I like your style.
You make me laugh real hard.

Neon? :p ;)

I'm sitting around 17K, not bad for 5 days working on it. I'm just lucky work has been so slow!!

Hi U4ea, good to see you pop in here! :)

17k is very impressive!

Keep in touch and let us know how you go.

I really must get my head down and crack on with mine. I've made my own life difficult with it, though. It's now a much more complex plot than I'd originally intended, but, if I pull it off, I think I'll have quite a meaty novel.

The other main problem is that my mind is so distracted right now. I can't seem to shut off from stupid little niggles going on in my life. I wish I had a switch in my brain, to shut out all that crap.

After seeing that AV, I too am distracted. Thanks for slowing my pace down Lou. I was on a roll. Geez.

BTW...after taking off writing this weekend, I am at 8760 and counting. I am writing more after dinner tonight, and will surely catch up now that I am on vacation for the week.

Still stuck at 1,210. At this rate, I'll never make it. Too much stuff going on in real life. I was out of my mind thinking I could do this again.

Are you me? I was just going to post something along those lines. :)

This weekend, the coming week and the next weekend is the Mother-Of-All-Exams period with text analysis exam on tuesday, dialectics exam on thursday, and a 9000 words essay paper on rhetorics history next monday.

All of which I completely forgot about.

So I doubt I'll get more than the occational NaNo word down all week. I'll have olk greeks and analysis models up to my ears.

And at the same time, the story just turned into this complicated, thought-heavy web that does not lend itself well to speedy writing.

Shiyat.

Just back from a busy weekend visiting various relations for my daughters birthday (today) so nothing has been put down since Friday morning - I am hoping to get some done this evening if my darling daughter will ever settle down to sleep!

At least you have the excuse that you forgot about them. I am just ignoring my assignments. They both have to be ready by the first of December.
And I have to hand in a project plan for extra curricular something or other before November 15th.
And I have not yet found a place for training on the job.

I don't want to think about all those obligations, so I write.
A whole new way of sticking your head in the sand. And much more fun.

:D

Tulip, luv, I so wish I lacked your sense of responsibility. :D
But I'm new at this college thing, and have not yet become acommodated to deadline panic and dorm room fornication.

Ok, it's official. I will put the NaNo on lowest priority until next Monday, get my exam shit over with, and work it from there.

I'll be needing 2336 words/day to finish on time if I write nothing next week. Still far from impossible.

Ya want the sekrit formula?

Anyway, just snogged off another thousand (it's too late to write a coherent essay paper anyway)

That means I'll now have to work off only 2284 words/day starting next monday.
