Re: Back to the drawing board

At 22404 I've hit the wall for the second time. I like the characters, but the story is lost in the mire.

Last year I had an outline and managed the 50k easily. This year, just an idea. It wasn't enough.

Back to Plan B. Start again. This time with an outline I'd put to one side. So, 50k words in 22 days. 2273 words a day. It's doable! Wish me luck. Or Colly, send me some of what you've been on, lol

Alex

All the best, Alex! You can do it! I'm rooting for ya!! :)

Lou :rose:

Thank you Black Tulip -I like that part myself. (been there too) *hugs*

I like your piece too, it flows very well.

Gees Alex...have this big pile of good luck I was saving for such an occassion *grins*

My only worry is that my story might finish before i get to 50, 000 but I can always flesh it out if needs be!

14331 words now and I'm just pootling along right now. I'm content so far with how its going :)

Haven't checked in for a while and I am too lazy to read all the pages. So how is it coming for everyone? Everbody on track? Someone need some cheerleading?

Folks.

Been writing to forget other problems, little I can do from here, other than provide timely telephone support.

Nano word count 29046
Novel word count 123760

It's turned out to contain a surprising amount of sexual activity, must be that time of the month again. :D

Also no end in sight, it's looking closer to 200k to conclude, that's without the chapters I've marked where I know I need to add detail and content.

I've read little of what others have posted, apologies for that, but I mean to finish this draft in November.

Neon

EDIT: Pushed it out to 30140 by end of day, bed for me - anyone?

Good on you, Neon! :)

Sorry I didn't do the regular update last night, folks, something kinda came up. ;)

I'll do it tonight instead!

<raising hand>
<coughing and brushing bits of what looks like mortar and brick dust off shoulders and front of self>
<taking sip from cold drink and offering it to trio of feral, slinky looking redfurred animals with foaming mouths resting in hair and hanging on back>

Ahem...I think I could stand a bit of that. I thought 1667 was easy to keep up with, but then RL decided to show me its power by keeping me busy with kids and housework, and when I finally got myself free...I discovered it had made a pact with my Muse to only inspire me when I was unable to write or type anything...

<sigh>

At 4386 currently (well, since, like, Wednesday last)...we'll see what we can manage today...

Thanks everyone :)

Alex, I was on pure insomnia, it's the nanoers best freind ya know :)

I'm going to clean it up some and expand on it here and there, but if anyone needs help or some research done or anything, just give a hollar :)

Still rooting for you all

Wanna finish up for me? I am procrastinating for the 1,000 time since Thursday when I was on pace. A little shy of 10,000 words now. I know you could have it done by Thursday if not earlier. ;)

Remec love...I know you'll get there. It's early days yet and who knows what tommorrow may bring. You can do it love -Just write when you can as much as you can! No one can ask more of you than that

LOL,

You'll make it without me filling in, I have faith in ya :)

I need sleep!

Sorry, Colly, I need sleep too much! Plan B is currently at 2404 from today's efforts. There's still the evening, too, but I have marking to do tomorrow...

Alex

13.039 words. I'll fix the sigline as soon as I can get my bloody PSP to cooperate!

I'm sooooo behind!:( But I need to get mum's birthday present finished...

The writing is going better than I hoped, though. It's just time that's stopping me. Every time I sit down to write, the words just flow by themselves, and I find myself embroidering out scenes I hadn't even thought of. I just finished an action scene that wasn't in the planning, and it was FUN!

Poor Biwa - she's getting TOO good at disguising her true identity! In this scene, she changes clothes in a public bathroom, but when she sneaks out of the ladies' room, dressed as a boy, she runs into an old lady who thinks she - he - is a pervert, and starts to scream. Then the police starts chasing poor Biwa through town...:D

Still stuck on 5395 including my first Winter Holiday entry.

Maybe next year...

I'm behind, as well, but playing catch up today. So far so good - plodding right along.

wow! considering the sourse, I'll take that as a real compliment.:)

I'm glad you liked it, and who knows, maybe it will make it in with a little revision:) Glad that you enjoyed it. Kisses.

Sweetnpetite as:

The source? Me? Now I'm the one that is complimented. Thank you.

And yes, I really did like it.

Keep it going, Sweet.

14.401, and things are getting exciting. Kiyaru has volunteered to help Biwa put on some muscles, and they're just about to start training Capoeira together - which will ultimately lead to a turning point for poor Kiyaru... *hint, hint*;)

I like her already.

Go you!

#L, a man of few words today

(or rather spending them on my essay)

*WORD COUNT UPDATE*

Ok, I'm a day and almost and hour late with this.

Apologies. :rose:

My mind has been elsewhere, and I've been writing like a demon.

I'll be updating the word counts at 11pm GMT (25 mins time), PM me if you wanna update!

Thanks hon...between the peptalk from NaNo HQ and reading what everyone has been up to 'round here, and managing to write two more small chapters today (bringing me to 6104)...I'm feeling better about things.

Would be nice if all the various characters would let me know what the plot is going to be ultimately though. <g>

Glad to see you feel you're getting on top of it. You will. Have faith in yourself!

Those NaNo pep talks are pretty good, aren't they? :D

What was it? Week 2, The Weasles and The Wall. :)

Chris Baty rocks!

To Colly,

Rather than writing one or two more, here's a challenge for you- (if you're interested).

See if you can have a *Final Draft* by the deadline.

Goodluck, whatever you decide.:)
