I made it!

As of this morning, I'm at 50,015! Of course, the _story_ is only half done, but I got that word count knocked, baby! ;)

Stop that this instant. You just write in a different manner. I have full faith in you.

I'm trying to keep myself from reading anything I've already written, but I swear, I just can't help it!

It's how you write, but you can finish. Raphy finished last year and I have knon him to agonize for hours over the correct word in a sentence. He even held up several hours waiting for me to respond to a question on small arms. You can do it Cloudy, just remember your goal isn't to get there before anyone else, it's just to get there. The clock is your only competition, everyone else here is just cheering for you as you are for them

I'm still going for it, although my confidence that I'll make the deadline is sinking daily.

Of course, it would help if a certain someone weren't so damn nosey every time he heard the keyboard going, and would stop coming in here to try and read over my damn shoulder.

Do you know the other night I came in the living room, and noticed he had hidden something real fast. He had one of my writing notebooks he'd dug out - the damn thing was like three years old, and was reading it. When I laughed, and said he was a nosey little fucker, he had the balls to get mad at me!

You will finish. You know I'll be glad to help, anyway I can.

As for him, well, you know what they say down south about killin being to good for him.

Yes, well, there's a reason that "he needed killin" is a valid defense here.

edited to add: Thanks, Lauren, sweets......I'm trying, but it's slow going. I have days, like yesterday and the day before where I write like crazy, and then I'll hit a wall, or something, and I can't write a word for way too long. *sigh*

Just reached 28,619 words.

I believe the phrase is "hanging on grimly".

Can't resist posting a small excerpt from my story. This is the part where one of Biwa's classmates discover that her classmate has been hiding a secret from all of them. ;)

"You didn't show up at breakfast, so I brought you this," she said, and put the tray in Biwa's lap.

There was a pot if tea and a cup, a package of yoghurt, and a bowl of rice with bits of fresh tomatoes.

"Thank you, Mitsune, but I don't think I can eat right now," said Biwa.

"You need it," said Mitsune. "Atleast have some tea. Where's Kiyaru?"

"I have no idea," said Biwa, and poured herself some tea.

"Have you been fighting?" said Mitsune.

"Sort of," said Biwa.

To her surprise, she WAS hungry, and ate all of the food Mitsune had brought.

"I'm sure you'll work it out," said Mitsune. "Interesting costume, by the way. Looks like a martial arts uniform. What are you gonna show us? You've been keeping it a secret for all this time!"

"Then it won't kill you to wait a few more hours," Biwa smiled, and handed her the tray.

She got up and began to do some stretching to warm up her muscles, while Mitsune watched her carefully.

"Biwa, are you sure you want to wear a WHITE suit for the exam?" Mitsune asked.

"Yeah, that's what we agreed on," said Biwa. "What's wrong with white?"

"Well..." said Mitsune. "I could be mistaken, but I THINK you've got your period."

Well, you are doing better than me, but there's no way I'm not completing the 50,000 by the 30th. No fucking way on earth that ain't gonna happen!!!

So, you are going to complete, too. OK?

Lou ;)

I played hooky last night and wrote smut instead of a case study.

Pure NaNo count is now 25918, hey that's half way!
(And 3266 in the reserve.)

I've been working on mum's birthday present all evening. Time to turn off the TV, put the embroidery away, minimize this window, and start WRITING.
