9.95/kg for lamb!

http://www.realfoodtoronto.com/lamb.html

I think the high price of imported NZ lamb just means the locals can charge similar prices. Although this is a premium butcher, delivered in Toronto.

17$/kg at Loblaws. Generic grocery store. For Aussie lamb boneless leg.

Boneless is always more expensive.

Any lamb I bought in the states was overpriced and terrible. But I missed it so, I paid.

Woolworths had cherries from the states on special a few weeks back. $24/kg.

To give you an idea, a leg of lamb will cost around $9.95/kg. I bought a handful. Really nice. All the way from California. :)

It's been cold these last few days. Sunny, but really cold. Great for the strawberries. Sunday and it's almost 7 am and I'm getting ready to head to the medical center. From there I'll shoot west with my bike and check out the new riverfront path for cyclists and pedestrians from Parra Park to Sydney Olympic Park. The Subiaco Creek link opened earlier on in the week.

Had a lovely warm salad for tea last night. Asparagus, walnuts, blue cheese, mushrooms, olive oil.

Life is good. Have a great summer :)

I know you're north of the divide, but you do know woolworths is terrible, yes?

Great! But which Lamb?

There's Sarah Lamb, an American principal ballet dancer with The Royal Ballet of London:

So many Lambs to choose from in our wide world, but where would we begin? ;)

You will have to be more specific as to which "large island below the equator". There are quite a few of them.

Not that it matters to me because a) I'm not allowed here; and, b) I suck at following directions.

I think she meant this lamb chop.

Quiet is an amazing thing. No partner - off on a trip for a week. No kids - in camp for another week (yay). I wish I could experiment with quiet more frequently. I am already searching for more camps for the kids. Today I plan to lounge in the sun and work on my precancerous skin condition.

and all just as the wineberries started to come ripe. Life is great.

Oh, how nice ("Oh! It is a very nice word indeed! It does for everything."). I don't understand why you'd want to ruin a lovely bit of quiet by lounging in the hateful sun, but if that is your wont.

Also, apparently Firefox doesn't believe in wineberries.

Oh! But not cherries, obviously. High praise, still.

It's a shame, really.

The great thing about wineberries is that you need only toss out a portion of last year's harvest in order to increase the cane stock. They grow in almost any dirt, are not picky about rain and can grow in part shade.

generally, they are right there with cherries, but as I planted and nurtured the cherries, they get the nod, if only for the extra effort.

Blackberries are awesome. DO them!

I see. But then wineberries are an invasive species, so I suppose it's probably to be expected that they require little work at all. The great thing and the thing that damns them all in one.

Of course. Being chased by a tiger and all of that.

Hahaha! I see now.

You're a Mexican. So you're probably a gluten-free hipster who listens to Triple J and drinks Crown beer. When everyone knows where a bar, cafe or restaurant is you no longer want to go there. Your favourite foods are gluten free, sushi and felafel. Which are also the names of the three kids you sat next to at school.

Riding around on the 86, so hungover
Gonna go down to JB Hi-fi, flick through indie...

No, I was just saying that I'd tried yank cherries... :)
