My Safe Place Thread

Of course. It would be ridiculous to suppose that something could be the same on a Tuesday—a Tuesday—as on a Friday. The height of nonsense. Things are clearly going to be different.

But I do happen to have a rather uncomfortable mattress.

I have two mattresses in my garage waiting for a bed frame, or mice.

On an aside, as if this entire thread is not an aside, I believe that I am the only "qualified" person still posting in this thread, all others being tall, male, dispossessed of good horsemanship.

Carry on.

On an aside, as if this entire thread is not an aside, I believe that I am the only "qualified" person still posting in this thread...

I'm not sure the still is necessary. But it seems to me that the qualifications are all in how you interpret them. And whether or not you are held to account.

I apologise for the unexciting reports from my now unexciting life. I am not working, both kids are busy with sports and pony club, and I other than walking hounds (probably would not flip your on switch) and my daily ride or two, I do little but walk among my trees and plants and kill the odd pest and attempt to devise a better way to eat my produce.

Being a house-mother is a hard life. I thought I might take in a movie later, but the sun beckons and I have no choice to answer.

Jesus Christ, do you have a Hindustani boy fanning you with feathers and calling you memsahib?

I assumed that you were channeling him with the boobs request.

He is back, hiding under an alt that has not yet used the words pusillanimous or benighted.

You should talk to him, like minds and all.

Tits. Never boobs.

I've seen him posting under the new name. Same dumb shit, brain dead talking points that contradict each other, sometimes within a sentence. I see miles is back as well, cheerleading with insults as always. Both just as boring and predictable.

Life is good? I was happy to see your name on my screen when I stopped back in.

The sentence would read the same without the word, but the word adds a slight snobbish tone to the writing and thus I chose to use it, and LTR may be qualified and posted on page 1 and may not be lesbian (she dated seanH and if anything can create a lesbian . . .) and may not even like horses but she is the most qualified person who previously posted, making the word still accurate.

so there.

It does add something to the tone, I must admit.

I am less convinced of the rest: criterion but not criteria, and in that is certainly no better and I suspect worse off than several others. But we waive our concern and shall pass over it.

So there, indeed.

I will have you know that I have very good horsemanship.

The rest though, is a fair cop.

I didnt know Equinoxe had a sex change, I'm rather sad now.

It's Queen's birthday long weekend.

I'm cooking streaky bacon under the grill. Toasting some English muffins, poaching some eggs.

It's sooo nice to be able to sleep in and relax and chill at home in the morning. And I have tomorrow off too!

You must admit that four out of six is not awful.

You could do (much) worse.

It pains my heart, that that poem was lost to me, until now. I have a guess, as to who read it to me.

I was too young.

School is out, Camp is IN. Freedom,

except for the hounds whelping left and right and center as well,

and the garden full of weeds,

and fruit trees,

and horses,

and.

Oh! Does it have a title, or is it just known by its incipit?

Once again, I cannot overpraise the infinite virtues of the Norpro Deluxe Cherry Pitter.

Droll indeed.

I accept the weight gain from eating dozens of cherry pies, cherry tarts, cherry roll-ups, and now blueberry-strawberry-cherry pies. If only the apples and pears would come in at the same time, and the blackberries and raspberries, and wine berries would be a great addition to the next pie. I must dry freeze some cherries, blueberries and strawberries for this creation.

Goblin Market indeed.

I gave the yearling its first shower at the weekend. I am too old for this..

I remember doing lots of those. I AM too old now.

Why is it that they can stand outside in a driving rain and thunderstorm and be totally calm. But point the business end of the hose at them and they freak out.

Do you stuff their ears to keep out any accidental bits of water?

Woolworths had cherries from the states on special a few weeks back. $24/kg.

To give you an idea, a leg of lamb will cost around $9.95/kg. I bought a handful. Really nice. All the way from California. :)

It's been cold these last few days. Sunny, but really cold. Great for the strawberries. Sunday and it's almost 7 am and I'm getting ready to head to the medical center. From there I'll shoot west with my bike and check out the new riverfront path for cyclists and pedestrians from Parra Park to Sydney Olympic Park. The Subiaco Creek link opened earlier on in the week.

Had a lovely warm salad for tea last night. Asparagus, walnuts, blue cheese, mushrooms, olive oil.

Life is good. Have a great summer :)

9.95/kg for lamb!

http://www.realfoodtoronto.com/lamb.html

I think the high price of imported NZ lamb just means the locals can charge similar prices. Although this is a premium butcher, delivered in Toronto.

17$/kg at Loblaws. Generic grocery store. For Aussie lamb boneless leg.

i want this thread to be all-inclusive, for the right people.

I meet NONE of the OP criteria for posting...but this line made me snort laugh.

I'd fist bump you with a giggle...but then I'd be worried whether or not you'd sue me for manspreading my patriarchy.

Lol thx for the grins, keep being bathed in awesomesauce.
