NaNoWriMo 2004 - Sign Ups!

So good to see that so many have already signed up, but don't forget, those of you who haven't, get to it! (I'm wielding my whip already. ;) ).

Oblivia, good to see you! Is this your second year, too, or have you done more?

Lou :rose:

Thanks!

I started a novel last year, but due to life *stuff*, couldn't finish.

I participated (and finished) in 2002

I'm very excited for this year as this will be the first year I FINISH an erotic Novel for NaNoWriMo!

*grins*

Always,
oblivia

Very cool!

I'm also doing an erotic novel this year (I've posted in the same "Dungeon" thread as you over on the NaNo boards). Last year I did a pretty dark erotic horror. I completed it, and I'm very happy with it, but this year I decided to go for something a little lighter and pull on some real life stuff that I've been wanting to write about anyway.

As I said in the '03 support thread, just call me a LitNaNoWriMo XXL jock strap, on account as how I'm a big supporter of all you participants. Granted, every last one of you is demented, even certifiable. But, what the heck, nobody's perfect.

Maybe I'll get hired on to do the play-by-play. Good luck to all you Lit lad and lassie loonies.

Gosh, I so wish that weren't just a metaphor, Rumply.

sigh, Perdita

Cheers Rumps and Goosey!

Will you send me your jock strap if I complete?

Lou :p

Says Perdita, while thinking, "Oh, be still, my heaving stomach. :)

All mine have been washed, sorry. But if you compete and complete, I will send you something just as hot and spicy, an order of Jalapena peppers. A few (maybe even one) of those will make you forget everything else, including how tired you are. Check with Perdita for details.

Yup? Yup?! Here I do my very best to shame you into joining the phartay, and all you do is roll with the punches?

Alrighty, I'm back from visiting with friends from a different corner of cyberspace in Memphis (where I wish I'd brought along a note pad or something, but I so rarely write longhand anymore I didn't think of it) and finally am signed up.

<whew>

So...what's next?

We just drop by the site there and read up on forum threads to make things seem less daunting? Is that the general idea?

Remec.can i hold your hand hun? I'm a first timer too :) I reckon having a read about can't harm love :)

Nice one! :D

Yep, that's about it. October is for getting nervously excited and hyping ourselves up so that we're chomping at the bit come November 1st.

On your marks...

Lou

You can hold anything you'd like that would make you (and me) feel more safe and secure....<smile>

I'm going to read more later today. Yesterday I already saw a few writing exercises towards world-building, and saw a fair number of people plotting out, or at least entertaining, the idea of a superhero novel...which is one of my ideas too.

Lou....so, how quickly do they want us to have a title? I saw that was listed on the profile and I was, like, damn...I don't even have a subject, let alone a name for it...

Remec...I'll start out holding your hand....I might progress to other appendages once I get REALLY nervous *grins*

I must have a good look round myself sometime soon, I have my idea.....not sure for the title..in fact I usually don't get the title till after I've written the story. *L*

Title.... *whimper*

I, unfortunately, need the title before the story. It sets the tone for the whole thing....

And the one I've been toying with is B-O-R-I-N-G. *grump* I have GOT to work on something better...

Always,
oblivia

***EDIT**** Right after I posted this it came to me... DUH.. ;) I am writing the novel I wanted to write last year but couldn't, starting fresh.. but the title I had before still fits what I want to do... so there it is....see my sig line!! *grin*

Well I'm signed up now as well....I already have the outline and everything done for this...I never ever do outlines lol. But I'm fully prepared to take the first weekend in November and write and will probably finish it within a week of that. Because I already know what's going to happen and I'm actually doing a humor story...."Conversations with and Revelations from God."

Anyone that knows me knows that it's a stretch but I had an idea for it and ran with it now I can only barely contain myself until November first to begin writing it all down.

Good luck everyone

I am trying to read through this thread, I'm only on page 5.

Anyway, I signed up. (!)

I've got another idea besides the one I already started for lit. So I'm good to go come November.

November is getting closer...

Don't I know it!!!

I did your writing exercise Lou, it was wonderful.
How far can I go with preparing the grounds?
I started getting whole scenes in my head. Is that ok?
As long as it stays in my head anything goes?

Yep, absolutely!!!

You can even start writing notes, it's all ok provided you don't start writing the actual novel until November 1st.

So glad to hear you found that exercise useful.

Lou

Yes I did. Funny thing is, I know tricks to get people to write but not for writing in a creative sense. And this thingie of yours brought me some very unexpected twists.

That alone is a lot of fun.

:D
