Scratch that, the message now says 3pm Pacific which is roughly 11pm UK time.

Cool, thanks for that, Neon.

Also, thanks for what you said about my voice. Would love to hear yours, too!

I actually got into the site - it had been down for me all morning. But, I think my browser was all screwy. The only site I could access was Lit. Weird! I've sorted it now, though.

EDIT
I've just checked their site, a new message has appeared which states a new 2004 site will be open at midnight Pacific time - I guess that is some couple of hours away. I think all I've none is change my data on Nano 2003!

*le sigh*

And here I thought it was enough to log in.:(

The Nano site has posted a notice to say at least the site will not be up for at least two more hours.

Guess its sign up tomorrow for most this side of the stream.

Tsk, they've had all year to get it sorted. ;)

Nah, seriously, it must be a massive job. I just can't wait to get started!

Thanks for the update, Neon.

Lou

Sorry, I can't make it this time around. But next year, I'll be there for sure.

I just can't commit to it right now.

*blush*

As soon as I finally get tired of waiting and post...it shows up! I am officially registered!

I've signed in again.

If you did it last year and want to continue using the same ID, you do not need to re-register - just go into your profile and update it.

The countdown begins...

Oh, oh. I signed up.

:D

Edited: as Black Tulip, what else?

NOW you tell me... I've signed up as Svenskaflicka, so you'll be able to recognize me easily.;)

I have two stories fighting to get the honor of being my option for NaNo.

One is the Prequel to my HP fan fic "The Squibs". I have worked out a basic plotline, and divided it into about 6 chapters. One about how the girls met, how they formed their band, their first gig, their first album, their first tour, and a last chapter consisting of short stories that lead up to the moment just before "The Squibs" start, ie when the band are invited to perform at the Yule Ball at Hogwarts.

The other is a story that I'm planning to turn into a Manga once I'm good enough at drawing Manga. It's about a girl who pretends to be a boy in order to get into a Senior High School of Performing Arts (a mix between "Girl Got Game" and "FAME"). She falls in love with her room-mate, and spends the entire story trying to win his heart without revealing her secret in the process. The guy in question IS interested, but doesn't want to admit to having any gay tendencies. To complicate things further, another guy falls for the heroïne, and he finds out her secret, and there's theatre and dancing and drinking and kissing and slamming doors and impotency and tears and capoeira...
I've planned the whole story, and divided it into 3 chapters, one for each year at this Performance Academy. I've even divided the whole story into 30 pieces, so that I'll know what to write each week.

I can't decide which one to write. I've been thinking about the Prequel all along, but now I'm beginning to doubt if it would be a very good idea. Not only is it a fan fic, which means I can't get it published if I do manage to complete it; but it's also a little weak. I've got the main idea, but with the other, I've even thought of the lines.
AND I work 75%, and I'm constantly begging for more hours so I can make more money - right now, it's the 2nd of the month, and I'm already out of money! Lots and lots of bills...:(

AND, to make things even worse, this morning I volunteered to be the ML of Northern Sweden. I don't know if I will be approved, but heck, it's worth a shot! It would be a great challenge to be the ML, and it would give me good organizing skills (and merits!).

I need something simple to write... Rant, rant... I've already decided to go with the Manga-one, haven't I? ;)

Svenska,

I hope you do, the Manga thing sounds interesting.
As for the bills, shake hands girl. I'm already flat broke too.

Maybe it's a European thing?

:D

P.S. Have you checked out all our voices yet? We miss yours. See my sig.

I've done it.

I've signed up but I'm not sure I'll finish this year.

There are too many RL events around including a daughter's wedding and a wife's significant birthday (and closing my business and moving house).

And I have NO plot!!

I have no microphone! Oh, waily, waily...:( I'm gonna go and listen to your voices now.

(Maybe it's a good thing I can't record my own voice - I sound so childish and ridiculous on tape! )

I feel your pain, Og! I told myself I must have a plot this year - not having one last year really made it difficult.

JJ - getting nervous

I haven't looked up all of the genres of NaNo yet, but I know that over at another short-story-site, there's a whole genre called PWP, or "Plot? What Plot?"

It's all the writing equivalent of jogging - it gets you nowhere, but it's a good exercise and you have fun while doing it. If you're into that sort of things, that is...

I'm in!!!

Okay everyone...

I know most of you have NO clue who I am, but I'm back and I'm in!

*grins* it's going to be a blast. I'm overbooked and everything in my life is hectic, but the thought of NOT participating was too depressing.

The difference is that THIS year I am going to plan. I have a story idea, and I think if I work out an outline and a reasonable writing schedule, there's just no reason NOT to participate.

*grinning*

Always,
oblivia

Thanks Svenska - that sounds like something I could use right now.
