But can I write more than 7 words a day? That remains to be seen.

You can write 7 words a day if you want, but that means you're gonna have your ass full by November 30th. ;)

Stop confusing me with facts. I'm supposed to be thinking fiction - you know, creative lying.

See what happens when you let these college women run things.

Next thing you know, she'll want to start 6 hours before me just because she's in Sweden.

Just teasing. My fault I didn't look at when you posted for where you are.

When the clock passes midnight, I'm off! :D :p

I'm a little late getting here...

I am pretty new to Lit. and new on Nano, too... But, I've been writing erotica for a few years. I haven't submitted anything on here yet, but I will get around to it. I just really wanted to pop on here and say howdy. I'm Ryleigh on Nano...btw.

I'm freaking out because I haven't even worked out a plot yet. Nope, no charaters either. I'm the sit down and write kinda person, always have been. But I'm thinking that may not be the best idea for 50,000... >groan< I'm gonna see what happens. If I finish, yippee... If I don't, it's a lesson for next year!! ;-)

Welcome to the AH :rose:

There's a thread in the NaNo forum under the Erotic Fiction header titled "Literotica Authors." We've all mostly checked in there, and most are using the same names we use here, although some aren't.

There's quite a few NaNo veterans here (I participated last year, but got stuck about halfway through, and didn't finish) - some have done it three years already, and won each time (I'm in awe of them).

Join in the insanity here....we don't bite, unless you want us too, and there's some incredibly supportive and talented authors here in the AH. :)

We're also good at kicking each other's butts into gear when somebody gets stuck.

Now about that biting...

that cleavage is looking mighty tasty....

damn it! I've taken down my vampire AV, and since the hard drive switch, I'm not able to get into my auxiliary drive until I take it apart, and mess with it some more!

Woo baby! Threaten me more!

I know the feeling.

When I think about NaNo starting on Tuesday, I get this constricting feeling in the back of my throat.

Out of my mind. Back in 5 minutes.

1 day to NaNo!!!!!!!!
Better go and sign up then.

And think up a plot. Do I need a plot?

Nah. You just need to write 50.000 words in 30 days. It doesn't say anywhere in the rules that you can't quote the phone book. I know, I've checked.

Cheating?

It is very easy to cheat at NaNoWriMo.

All you have to do to 'win' is put 50,000 or more words through their word counter.

Only you know whether those words are:

1. Yours
2. Written in November
3. Whether they are potentially a story or just a random selection of words.

The only person you are competing against is yourself. You will know whether you have completed NaNoWriMo by the accepted criteria. Anyone can claim that they have with minimal effort but the real sense of achievement comes from doing it legitimately.

I think that's the reason why I like the contest concept so much.

Plots are optional, along with dialogue, storyline, structure...

Oh, forgot about them.

In fact, drop the characters altogether, they just slow the story down. How about 50,000 words on the challenges facing man in the coming decade ? Or 'The Cat Sat on the Mat' repeated an appropriate number of times?

Yeah, fuck 'em -- We don't need them taking over the entire story. They just screw everything up anyway!
