NFL Pick 'Em Pool 2010 is HERE!

But what if the team you follow is not the team that's nearest you?

You wouldn't get to see them much? I'm assuming unless you had pay tv, and that the sports channels there would eventually show all the games?

If they played a game Sunday night or Monday night then you would get to see them because those games are shown to nationally to everyone.

The only way to see your team play every week if you live someplace else is to have Direct TV, which is satellite TV, because they have what's called the NFL Sunday ticket and it allows you to see every NFL game being played each week.

Otherwise you are SOL.

Thank you WD. As a life long Redskins fan, I can not in good conscience root for the Cowboys. LOL

Reminds me of what I used to say when people asked me my favorite college team: "FSU... and anyone who's kicking Gator ass." Now, however, it's "FSU and USF (South Florida)." I actually kind of like the Gators since Urban Meyer has come in and squared them away to some extent. Still want the 'Noles and the Bulls to stomp 'em when they play, though. :)

Urban Meyer! can he survive losing four in a row? I just checked and Georgia is favored by three. I'd call it a toss up myself.

It would be hard for Georgia to let go of Richt. He'll get one more no matter what happens.

SheWolf did incredibly well. I can't believe she called the Brown/Saints game.

It depends on where you live. Usually you get to see the game of the team whose home is closest to you.

However, there can be black-outs. For example if you live in San Diego you would normally be able to watch the San Diego Chargers. But if it is a home game and the stadium doesn't sell out then they black out the game to local viewers.

This never made sense to me. If they want to encourage loyalty to a team they need to first let the people watch them and get excited. Eventually they will get excited and go to a game (assuming they had the money).

Fortunately I live out in the woods so I get the games (but then my home team always sells out)

Once upon a time all home games were blacked out.

The current rule is supposed to get fans out to the stadium. However, you point out a very big flaw in the logic. The commissioner recently said to Oakland media that there are no plans to make changes to tie policy at this time. That was on the heels of the Raiders third blackout of the season ad a week after record low attendance.

It's all a big money grab. I'm just glad that i don't have to pay to get into games, considering some of the debacles vie sat through.

We're going to be kind of embarrassed if Snowy's random picks win the week...

LOL!

I think this is my worse week ever. But at least my Patriots won and the Jets lost. Even if I did pick the Jets to win, I am happier that they lost. :)

Damn it.

I took two upset picks this week (Lions over Jets and Bill over Bills) because I figured I had to make a move.

Both almost came through for me, but alas... losing teams lose for a reason.

I'm sorry, but thinking one man could beat a whole team is a bit foolish. I know the Bills stink, but I doubt this "Bill" is great enough to beat them on his own. ;) :p

I didn't see the game. I just knew that the Bills had been close the past few weeks and the Bears were seeming pretty tame.
