Obama's legacy

Let's ask Jen of Florida if poor people are getting poorer, or if they're receiving more welfare and free phones than ever before.

The fact that you're resorting to "Lets ask Jen of Florida" as an argument should tell you something.

People don't need more welfare and free phones, they need a job that pays 20+/hr.

Or

*gasp in absolute liburhul horror*

a permit/licence to go make their own money.

I don't trust whatever stats you're looking at.

More poor people and rich are richer.

That's not doing better, that's spin.

Kinda like ACA = progress.....bull fuckin' shit in EVERY way except 1.

If you don't trust every stat out there that's on you but there is a difference between what people feel and what reality actually is. Poor people are not poorer, they are (slightly) better off. The Rich are MUCH MUCH better off.)

Your personal insults don't change the fact that for most Americans the economy isn't doing better. Or the odds are my car cost more than your house :D

The only people Obama has helped have been the elite/super wealthy.

Now I know you love that because you're an elitist and you hate poor folks, especially minorities and women but the villagers are starting to get pissy so you might want to go ahead and enjoy it while it lasts.

I don't think the peasantry will be putting up with it for much longer. ;)

If (R)odham isn't the most noble POTUS America has EVER seen, the DNC is going to fucking implode and they will be right on the heels of the GOP's total melt down.
Leave the pilot in his unaffected lair.

It's not every and stats can be skewed as easily as words.

Yes, the poor are making more and keeping up with their 1-2% pay increases. And that's good, they are doing better. Until you realize it needs to be considerably more than 1-2% to keep up for a majority of the country.

The cost of goods/services/living is increasing at a comparable pace and in a number of areas vs income faster....so are they REALLY better off?

I don't think so.

Is the super majority of the country being stagnant at best, sliding back at worst really something we should be jerking Obama off for?

No...it's something we should be grilling congress about.

Obama averted a potential mega collapse......that was it.

Since that fateful 'save' of the billionaire class from living life with consequences like the rest of the planet and sticking the grandkids with the bill, he hasn't done SHIT for the common folks.

Didn't keep any homes from foreclosing, didn't back 1 single family.

But AIG got their 10 million dollar Christmas bonuses....fuckin' right they did. Thanks Obama!!

Oh well not that it matters....(D) is putting Clinton in office so apparently as much as the (D)'s like to talk out their asses about working class and poor folks, they are just Republicans.

I love how people forget that Carter's biggest failure -- gaining the release of the hostages in Iran -- was proven beyond a shadow of a doubt to be a conspiracy between the leaders of Iran and the man who succeeded Carter, Ronald Regan. Reagan, "Papa" Bush, and others worked with the Iranians to cause Carter's downfall in exchange for weapons Iran desperately needed to fight Iraq.

Reagan was a traitor to the hostages, to the American people, and to law and justice; and then when he died, they gave him a royal funeral that was covered live on television.

Seriously?

What does this have to do with Obama? Obama came into office having to fix Baby Bush's problems, which included the continuation of Reagan/Bush deregulation and reversal of Clinton's balanced budget, leading to the Great Recession; and before that, the invasion of Iraq that ultimately led to power vacuums across the Arab world, now responsible for million of dead and displaced persons.

If you feel this way about Reagan then you must really hate Obama and Clinton for what they have done to this country and the world. Obama will go down as the worst president this country ever had. Although one of the three stooges running for the office now will most likely give him a run for his money. Name one other president who has bullied and threatened the children of the U. S. the way King Obama did by saying he will punish them if they don't allow perverts into their schools. Not Gays or Transsexuals, but outright perverts is what he is calling for and if the school districts don't bow to him he will punish every student. That is Obama.

Another important part of Obama's legacy will be the sweeping changes in South America over the past year (no one talks about his foreign policy, but he does have one, and you can't blame the Republicans for it.)

Obama has spent beaucoup tax dollars on toppling South American governments that were considered uppity, resistant to being plundered by financial speculators, and determined to modernize. (Whenever a nation saddles its population with crippling austerity and invites foreign financiers to come in and loot to their hearts' content, this is referred to as "reform" by the American press.) This year we have seen effective and humane leaders toppled in Guyana, Argentina and Brazil. Obama rushed to personally congratulate the loathsome Macri in Argentina. Obama's bizarre proclamation last year that Venezuela was "a threat to US security" opened the door to vicious economic sanctions against that nation, which more than balanced out any good that Obama's cosmetic rapprochement with Cuba may have done.

ROFL. That will most likely be forgotten all together, if not it will be a point of pride in the future.

Mr. DeYaKen you are quite correct and I am sorry for not getting your point correctly.

QUOTE NOIRTRASH In fact Churchill encouraged Hitler to make problems for the French and Churchill's political opponents in Britain. QUOTE
This is a good example of a poor education. According to Mr. Noirtrash Hitler was a good old boy.

QUOTE The_Trouvere My guess is that you're white,..QUOTE
This in itself is a racist statement just because someone disagrees with you. People look at a person’s history and who backs him or her. As an American you aren’t suppose to take race or sex or a person’s religion into the voting booth. But even in this day people are still racists and will never grow up. And remember he had full control of both houses at one time and his do nothing House Speaker and Senate Leader are more at fault than the Republicans. It would be nice if the Republicans could say they had backbones and stood up to a petty dictator, but they can’t.

QUOTE Gwanji16 You get almost nothing right in this post, Mr. Scott, so I won't even waste the time demolishing it line by line. Your bigotry (H. Obama? Really?) speaks volumes and informs your world view. QUOTE

I didn’t make any racist remarks, but those who are racists are the ones who put “race” into a subject. As far as H. Obama, it should be B. H. Obama. That was a typo and I am sorry if I showed any disrespect by it, but I don’t see how as he is not ashamed of it. But if you feel that using his middle name is wrong his ancestry is something to be ashamed of and racists well….. As far as the rest of what I said, look at his actions and record. By the way what other president in our history has threatened our children? What other president has taken the side of perverts being allowed to go into a rest room, gym or locker room by similarly saying “I am woman.”? The background he comes from does not respect a person’s preference because of their makeup. In most of the countries he favors, these are crimes punishable by imprisonment or death. He has stirred up trouble as he has with racial problems, which if you are serious in brining equality Mr. Gwanji, then you would be upset by his actions.

I have friends in Japan and he flew there in a flight of several large jets and brought an army of security guards and a fleet of gas drinking cars with him on “Earth Day”. The Japanese laughed at him, politely of course, just as every other leader in this world has. Just like Gore and the rest of those money hungry fools that met in Paris filling the airport with private jets his view on World Climate is a joke. Just saying that just about everything he has done is not something history will look back on and say "what a guy."

And yes his family and the Clinton’s have grown fat and rich off their time in office. I have family down Arkansas and the Clinton’s were considered corrupt even then, and they were not rich when they started their career in politics.

In short I believe you don’t have any real objections to what I posted.

Please read Mr. JackLuis and Mr. AlwaysHungry’s and Mr Boxlicker’s posts. They stayed awake in their history class.

Mr. Sean Renaud I don’t understand your statement about Obama being remembered with pride about being the biggest school yard bully in history. Or did I misunderstand you? I was talking about what he did this month n saying he would cut off money delegated to schools for education if they objected to his “let any man into a woman’s area by just saying “I am woman”. The only people this helps are sex perverts. It has nothing to do with gays or transsexuals. I would think that is something no President would want to be remembered. And it isn’t trivial if you have females in your family. I was just pointing out another fine thing Mr. B. H. Obama will be leaving behind.

That is an excellent thing Obama is leaving behind. We don't have room for bigotry and those who refuse should be cut off from federal funding.

I just doubt anybody is even going to remember that in six months much less six years.

Obama's legacy in a nut shell - Obama trades the deserter Bergdahl for a hand full of dedicated terrorists. Has his folks in the rose garden so pops can speak Arabic and all. Now to protect his legacy, he has forced the Army to delay Bergdahls court marshal until Obama has left office so he wont get stained with he is convicted. This is what Obama is all about cluck cluck cluck

Why would Bergdahl getting convicted stain Obama? Oh wait people are stupid and think we should leave people behind and think that GITMO should exist. I guess with that much combined stupid anything could happen.

That is an excellent thing Obama is leaving behind. (meaning his love of perverts) We don't have room for bigotry (there is nothing bigotry against wanting to protect females) and those who refuse should be cut off from federal funding (should have their education of their children punished by a man who hates women and children).

I just doubt anybody is even going to remember that in six months much less six years (he hopes, but this is now part of the many failures and incompetent and corrupt legacy that Obama leaves).

Target has come under fire recently after announcing that all retail locations would allow customers to use whatever restroom they want regardless of their biological sex. As a result, women may suddenly find themselves sharing a bathroom with grown men. Many women’s rights activists believe Target’s new policy needlessly puts vulnerable women at risk of sexual assault and deprives them of their right to safety and privacy.

Target’s policy has raised questions nationwide about whether men who merely claim to be women should be allowed in the same bathroom as women. On Monday, a female security officer at a Giant supermarket in Washington, D.C., was arrested after telling a man to leave the women’s restroom in the store. In Toronto, a serial sexual predator pretended to be a transgender woman named Jessica in order to prey on women at a battered women’s shelter.

His love of dictators and terrorist and racists and sexist and his corruption at all levels of his administration (including the office of Secretary of State) and his failure of leadership and distaste for the Constitution and the freedoms of speech, press, honest voting, and turning the administration into a police state. This is his legacy.

And those women are wrong. The dressing rooms have fucking stalls they are no more at risk now than they were to begin with.

Toronto isn't in the US so whatever is happening there is their own problem entirely.

His love of dictators, terrorists, racists and sexist is something that only the far right believes and won't go down in history at all. His failure hat leadership may or may not, it depends on how accurate the history was. He has no distaste for the Constitution or it's various protections. At least no more or less than anybody else.

Good luck with that Legacy bit though!

Tell that to Mark Clark, small rivers of only a couple of meters depth and 100 metes wide are pretty hard for tanks or other vehicles. The Rapido was a bit of a trick to cross. However Churchill was correct in thinking that if he kept the English Army on the periphery of the war the Russians would eventually beat the Germans.

The New York Times had a piece a few weeks back that was sort of inadvertently insightful. It talked about Obama's foreign policy advisor Ben Rhodes, and some of the things he had to say about his boss:

“Indonesia was a place where your interaction at that time with power was very intimate, right?” Rhodes asks. “Tens or hundreds of thousands of people had just been killed. Power was not some abstract thing,” he muses. “When we sit in Washington and debate foreign policy, it’s like a Risk game, or it’s all about us, or the human beings disappear from the decisions. But he lived in a place where he was surrounded by people who had either perpetrated those acts — and by the way, may not have felt great about that — or else knew someone who was a victim. I don’t think there’s ever been an American president who had an experience like that at a young age of what power is.”

The parts of Obama’s foreign policy that disturb some of his friends on the left, like drone strikes, Rhodes says, are a result of Obama’s particular kind of globalism, which understands the hard and at times absolute necessity of killing.

This is a reference to the genocide which took place Indonesia in 1965. Obama's mother was a CIA counter-insurgency operative, and his step-father was a butcher in the Indonesian military. The US government directed the operation in which the Indonesian military slaughtered somewhere between 500,000 and several million communists, ethnic Chinese and alleged leftists.

Although the Times and Rhodes both try to spin Obama's taste for killing as reluctant realpolitik, I think that the reality is quite different. For years the stories have been out about the Tuesday night "Kill List" meetings at the White House. I think Obama gets off on it. It makes him feel potent. "48 Hours" on CBS tonight had an interview with a bunch of former CIA officials, including James Woolsey, who headed the agency under Clinton. He made the point rather sharply that Obama prefers to kill alleged terrorists rather than capture them so that they may be interrogated or put on trial.

This was certainly the case with bin Laden, an old, sick, politically insignificant figure who was lying unarmed on the ground as he was pumped full of bullets (according to official accounts.) Watching Obama strut about afterwards was quite sickening. I suspect that bin Laden was killed to prevent embarrassing revelations during a trial. However, the Black Agenda Report has another theory which I think has merit: Obama was preparing to arm the al-Qaeda spin-off groups in Syria for his "regime change" operation there, and the American people would naturally tend to have qualms about this. The killing of bin Laden provided Obama with a pretext to claim that al-Qaeda had been essentially wiped out, and all those militant Wahabite fellows in Syria were an unrelated phenomenon. They were the "good terrorists."

His legacy

Could have been so much more if the Republicans in Congress had given him a chance instead of acting like spoiled brats.

Ronald Reagan failed our country big time when HIV/AIDS was discovered in this country. Instead of using his office and power of the presidency to fund research and education about HIV/AIDS, he decreased the budget of the CDC while increasing the budget for the Department of Defense. Ronald Reagan's homophobia caused the deaths of thousands if not tens of thousands hemaphiliacs, wiping out several generations of families. By not using his office to pressure our nation's blood suppliers to use the test for HIV/AIDS that we had at the time, HIV/AIDS was passed on to heterosexuals in a monogamous relationship who had to have surgery.

I think that this is mostly a charade. The really significant things which Obama has done, he did with the full support of the Republicans. The battles over "wedge issues" serve merely to distract the rubes.

Many of the wedge issues are important especially as a whole and I don't think the Sequester or lowering of us credit rating where done on purpose by the two groups. IT doesn't seem like anybody (in the US benefited from that much.)

In the early 1980's, when AIDS was recognizes as a condition, it was considered to be a disease of gay men and sometimes users of drugs who shared needles. The potential victims were cautioned to practice safe sex, which resulted in shrill cries of protest from gay men, and refrain from sharing needles. In other words, prevention would be the key. But thousands of gay men refused to do the things heterosexuals do routinely, which caused the epidemic to be much worse.

You do have evidence to back up this version of history, right?
