Well wldnt you feel a little weird when you went...lol...what if yur cat used the potty...lmao...too frigging much for me....

Since cats can be trained to do that, it would certainly foul up the system. It's all way too much for me. I'm happy when the indoor plumbing works.

Well, kids, this middle-aged wood surgeon has to get his rest so that all cuts will be performed with precision tomorrow.

So that I may still have 10 fingers at the end of the day.

Good night, all. Dream only the good stuff.

Early morning job pondering. We have a meeting with the customer/owner at 11:30 this morning.

And still playing phone tag with the plumber. He a pain in the butt, but he's the best deal in town for this type of work, too. He charges little, and gets in and gets out. We can put of with lousy service for that, we think.

He's about $1500 less expensive than the next guy, and these people are trying to do theses houses on a budget. We take it.

Wow...you better believe it for that price you can overlook a lot!!

Today was an errand running kind of day. I had to make several trips, and left my help to work by himself for a while. It's nice to have help who will actually accomplish things while I'm gone - I had them who wouldn't/couldn't. He assured me that he wouldn't be frightened by himself.

We have cleaned more filth and funk out of that house this week than we managed to get out of the last one in four months. This is because we have removed all the inside trim, and then cleaned out behind where it was to remove almost all the plaster leavings. This will make the rest of the job cleaner, and less time will have to be devoted to clean-up.

A clean job is a happy job!!!!

Monday, we start building new walls!!!!

was it plain filth or lovely filth, there.....
Hey you!

Schedules

At some point, usually at or near the beginning, the customer always asks that question which makes us cringe - "So - how long do you think this will take?"

I always answer, "Longer than it should." It usually does. Murphy was a general contrator.

Chris, my helper (I might as well give him a name, so I can save typing, and so you can have a character), and I were discussing what took so long on the last job, and what we think we can cut out of this one.

We have concluded that we think we can finish this house in about five months. That would actually make the customer's expectations, too.

That would be 16 February - six months would be 16 March.
I'll be happy with 1 March.

They say they should have another one to do by the time we are finished, too. I love job security.

Monday, we start building new walls!!!! [/B]

Which color Play-doh do you prefer? There's still time to choose.

I hope to have some pics of the last job on here Sunday, if the creek don't rise.

Yes, I can give all manner of minutia.

As in "God willin' and the creek don't rise"? :)

Something my Mother used to say when I was young.
Miss that lady.

What color? Aye, not that is a grand question. As I am well versed in various types , textures, and scents...I would be so hard pressed to pick just one.
It all depends on what it will be use for.

Minutia, yes...

As in. Exactly.

Sorry to hear that. I can lend you mine - she never had any girls, either. No granddaughters, either. She has room.

It just dawned on me - I never got any Play-doh for my son when he was smaller.

He'll be telling his therapist about this years from now.

Don't be too hard on yourself.

But you have taught him how to use his hands to build.
Play dough is only one way for children to get the needed fine motor practice for using their hands. And to have fun too.
Buying things doesn't equal love.

And not with just anything, either. He got my blocks when he was small, and I had built everything with those when I was little.

He has developed quite an appreciation for used things, and has learned that new doesn't mean that much sometimes.

His stepfather has figured out what he can do and has put him to work - and pays him handsomely, too.

Can't I wallow in just a little bit of guilt???? Please????

My kids enjoy the "special" treat of going to the thrift store.........lololo.....which meaning has changed for me...used to be I had to go...now I only go if we feel like.a treasure hunt.

Wonderest Thou not at this one, Fair Lady, but shakest thine head with mirthful giggles.

Naw, I ain't beggin'. Mom was a nationwide distributor of guilt, and I had to learn how to refuse delivery.

The Wee (formerly) One called last night. He had another swim meet Wednesday.

I'm gonna see if I can get these pics scanned today - so keep your fingers crossed. I'm really low-tech at this sort of thing.

Methinks Thou playeth with me, My Lord. Oh blessed relief, for what I do with a man that beggeth?
Will keep said fingers crossed, wish you the best of luck in accomplishing your goal of...gaining understanding of the scanner.

It is a fine and good day here.

I really need to drop the coinage and buy a scanner for my buddy Matt, who can make it all work, and would do it for me, so I wouldn't have to.

But it seems that revenues have been down of late, and the Royal Treasury is depleted.

Maybe I'll just print some myself.
