Anyway I have to say to all Happy New year to all. Sorry the weekend got away from me but this week will see some updates. You all have done a whole lot so I want to answer your turns well.


For those of you that haven't posted you still have time....and are welcome.

Since I only have this project going in this area this is a good time for more players so if your interested contact me....as far ar I know I am running the only strategy/roleplay thread currently.

Welcome back.....short but solid turn. Everyone expect updates in the next few days. This week as been murder. Training a new man at work......martial arts......volunteer work......phew. But rest assured I have taken notes and have plans for all of you.....


I am amazed at all the impressive things I have seen as far as roleplay and strategy for this thread.


To those of you who were here in the beginning.......the founders of the island world thanks. The best is yet to come.


Those of you to jump on since......thanks you only add fuel to the fire and give me new directions to go in for stories.

Nothing like greatful players......sighs. Well I have been dealing with the flu the last few days and I am finally fit enough to make it back to my computer. I did talk to Lady Rose who has been busy as of late but as soon as she is few from a current obgligation for school (book learning stuff) she will submitt her post.....she loved the last one I am told.

A flu is not a nice thing, comiseration old chap. I am absolutely loving my turns, including this one. It seems a few of us might be interested in putting all these stories together at the end, albeit with a bit of editing and modification, into a volume of short stories. I am glad to hear your all happy that I am back on the job....if not at half speed.

Yes liquids.....rest and slowly going out of my mind. I believe I watched most of the James bond marathon while going through plenty of medicine, a box of tissues, and a gallon of green tea to date....but I am back to the grindstone.


Anyway if you can weave all this to a fitting story or series there of that would be something. Considering this isn't earth and a contest of the wargods is nothing new and not my orginal concept. I am just glad all are still having such fun. Always better for player to be asking you to run something then asking you not to....

Good question and the answer is know......You were born there.....raised there and the world is of islands. You have no idea there are Romans on some other world(s) having a history. The history of you people only goes back so far and the past more is of legend then solid texted. Myth is as much a part of history as historical figures.....finding out which is which isn't easy.

While I work on your updates I feel a need to add more structure to my game. Not so much rules but things that will help you build and organize. Running an empire is very busy work...



A House Hold.... is a building block of the family. Normally it includes the immediate family and those who have married into the family. Close friends and long time advisors. If it is a military family it can include retainers numbering from a few to thousands if it is a royal house.
Many of your characters are already part of a house and as things grow more will be added. Some households have elite units like cavalry to carry the family banner and are deicated to the family. Needless to say in a house hold loyalty is high considering it is made up of close friends, long time staff and blood relatives.

Key factors: Loyalty the strength of family and resources.

A Clan.... Basically a collection of households bond by some kind of family bond. Some times it is a distant as cousins but all are tied to each other. Normally they unite in battle with some providing the troops while those who cannot provide food and equipment. Clan size range in the number of households and even a small clan could field thousands. As ususal these are only guildlines.

Key factors: Allies and friends, but also your cousin's enemies can become yours quickly. Still in the end strength in numbers.

In the case of our Asian player Ronelith many of his Samurai have started to form households and clans through recent moves. Retainers are taken on and bonds are made. Many of the samurai carry banners of their house now. In the case of the Visigoths clans have formed because of historical events breaking up larger tribes. The many structure broke down but the family unit holds together until wiped out.

sorry for the delay, but things have been pretty hectic lately, with my flat mate moving out and all. I am in the process of writing my next post and hope to have it in sometime this week, if not this weekend.

Seems everyone is up to date with their turns and I am responding to all of them as best I can. LadyRose has told me she is a bit busy as of late.....A new man in her life and plenty of school and home work. I hope she returns to running her empire again soon though.

As always I always welcome new players....


As to my current players share your thoughts on the roleplay part. Do you feel I do justice to but the roleplay and strategy parts of the game???

First off, I love the game. It's also the only story I'm still in that hasn't disintigrated

To that end, I do wish the turns were coming a bit faster. I am well aware the real life is a priority, but a post every couple weeks to a month seems a bit much. I also have to second Tonofnoise's comment that sometimes detail and suggestions are missed, vague or just skipped over, which leads to confusion.


Over all, it's still great and keep up the great gaming.
