Good Afternoon

As i write this they have started to wake her up they gave her an Injection through her IV to start her comming out of the coma, her surgery she had is healing good, her Blood work is better they tried her of the breathing machine for 4 Mins and she did fair they said it would be a few days before she comes out of it but things are looking good for her if she does well and Improves everyday she might be home sooner, Well i have to go, I have to go and eat, Take care will write more later this evening. Well Pat this sounds like a long journey. Some times we have to take those baby steps before we can take off and run. Every thing is still pointing positive which is good... Each day I look forward to coming home and checking on Goldie's progress. I thank you for keeping us informed. Just letting you know I'm here for the long haul too...

Got the overnite shift at work tonite but am looking forward to an update when

Good Evening

Well i am home and the roads are getting bad here, Got some good news and Bad, First the Bad There was a Minor Set back they found Some bed sores on Dawn 1 is on her Elbow and the other is on her butt and 1 on her heel so they are treating those so those should heal fine other then that she is doing good, I guess with the sores the Aids are not turning her enough in bed, They are supposed to turn her every 2 hours But they are not and i think they got there Asses chewed out by the head Nurse on that subject, Other then that things are fine Expect me i am tired and did not sleep well last night was up and down every Hour on the hour and finally got to sleep at 4:30 this Morning and was up at 9:45 to catch my ride @ 10 am so i am going to cut this short and get some Supper and maybe if i can stay awake watch a little TV and then go to bed, I dont have 2 be up until 10 am tomorrow my ride will be here at 10:30, So everybody take care and will let you know tomorrow. Pat

If they are moving her, then they are not doing it properly then. There is no excuse for it. I do know as back in my college days I worked as an aide in a nursing home.

There were many times residents were hospitalized for something, maybe for just a week, and came back and we had to heal bedsores they got while at the hospital.

Now I am sure they know you will be checking.

So sorry to hear you aren't sleeping. Hope you have a soothing evening and are able to get the rest you so deserve.

Those bedsores are not fun to deal with! I am sure those will heal in no time, and
that Goldie is properly turned every so often.

Well the long road is almost over i hope it has been Hell and i am about to crash i dont know how much more i can take here going back and forth to the hospital i am just about out of money for the person that takes me up, Other then That Dawn is doing about the same they are hoping that she wakes up tomorrow if not maybe the next day i am hoping tomorrow but you never know, Sorry i just got a call from the hospital SHE IS AWAKE just woke up 10 mins ago i know i should have stayed up there but i am very tired and need to get some sleep if i can i have not been able to sleep all night long so i am off and will see you all tomorrow. Well another trip ended today and i am home Dawn is doing a little better today she was awake when i got there this morning, She had her sponge bath and was changed and in clean bedding so she looked better she hates the feeding tube up her nose but that is the only way they can feed her for right know, I dont know what else to say other then keep on praying for her to be home before New Yrs well take care all. Pat

Well here it is the day after Christmas andd i am sitting in the hospital with Dawn she looks about the same and she is sleeping right know nothing much to do here but sleep and or watch TV, Jaded1 Thank you for calling i have saved the message and will let her listen to it later, Christmas was not the same this yr without Dawn @ home to help me cook her dog misses her something awful and so do her cats well i will write more later when i get home. Pat

Man the roads are getting bad out there took me over an hour and a half to get home the ride takes about 45 mins to get home Sheesh, Well Dawn is doing a little better today she tried to pull the feeding tube out so they had to tie her hands down i guess she does not understand it is for her own good to have it in other then that they tried PT in bed today they worked with her for 15 or 20 mins not long just enough to see where she is in the way of strenght on her left side other then that not much has changed Well you all take care and if you are on the roads becareful out there. Good morning {{{Pat}}} Oh my, sorry to hear the roads turned for you. So glad you are home safe.

Glad to hear Dawn is getting better. I'd imagine she just wants that "thing" out of her throat. It has always looked nasty to me. Years ago I worked as an aide and the feeding tubes are needed as you say. I'd think people would try to remove them while sleeping...

It is good to hear they are testing her for the PT. Hope they keep PT up as even on her good side she will need to redevelop her muscle strength.

Well here it is the 2nd day after Christmas and i have some good news for you all the breathing machine Dawn was on is no longer they took it off today she is breathing on her own and is going to be moved to another part of the hospital in a Semi Private room so she will no longer be in ICU they ahd her up and sitting on the edge of the bed for about 10 minsthe Doctor told me that in the next few days they are going to try and get her moving around even if it is for a few mins to get the blood flowing to her legs, Her legs now look like chicken legs they are so thin but they should regain muscle and strenght i am writting this while my supper is cooking so i will finish this and go eat take care. Pat

It is so great to hear she will also be moved out of ICU, and into an actual semi private one.

Yep, they do need to get her up and moving. It is amazing how quickly muscle mass decreases when it isn't used at all.
