Why dont you wait until she gets home to send her anything the reason i say this is cause of all the things that will be coming home with her the person that brings me up to see her has a very small car and i think it will be packed to the roof with all the things that she has to have from the hospital. Good Evening

The Feeding tube was taken out today and she was givin a small amount of Fluides to see if she could keep it down, She also had the pleasure of chatting with suzi today online her speech is not that good and her typing was not that bad, She wants me to tell everybody Thanks for the prayers she hopes that when she gets home she can thank each of you herself if she does not have your e-mail address please send it to her Thanks, There was a minor Set back she has an Infection in 1 of her bed sores other then that she is good and is looking foward to getting home. Happy New Year May 2006 be better then 2005

I hope and pray that 2006 is far better then 2005,

As for Dawn They had her up today on The Bars trying to walk she took about 5 steps and sadly she fell down i guess her leg muscles are not up to par yet, Sadly i have been the only family member that has gone to see her for her lunch today they gave her Broth and Ginger ale and jello nice lunch huh? Jaded1 and kayte dawn listened to your Voice Messages and she lite up like a christmas tree well i am on the laptop that was givin to her and she wants to say something to you folks forgive the errors that she makes, ( hi folk than you for prayers i hope to go hom soon. dawn goldie.) Well like i said sorry for the errors that she made but her hands shake that she cant type that good her infection is slowly clearing up they have to be careful as she is a Diabetic, Other then that everything is going well time for me to eat my dinner and watch some TV and go to bed catch you all later. Pat

Glad too hear she is doing better..Having worked in a rehab hospital and with elderly patients I am amazed at what goes on where she is..I am glad too be living in Florida..Nothing like that would be allowed except for maybe taking off the wrong foot or something......For one thing after brain surgery or a stroke she should never attempt too walk especially being paralyzed on the left side..she must be a miracle woman to be allowed too try..And being allowed too fall down there is no excuse..I have always seen many people with someone one when they are paralyzed..You definitely need to go too a hospital or state that knows what they are doing. I am not trying to be mean but having been around this as a c.n.a..I just had too say something..if things are that bad at the hospital it needs to be reported too the medical board.

That is what the doctor wants probably, especially for a stroke patient. Its good the doctor wants the PT to start immediately, so as to get the brain working again and get the motor skills doing everything they can to try and get back close as possible to normal. Just gotta go day by day and see what happens.

Good evening {{{{{Pat and Dawn}}}} I am so sorry to hear she fell. I read the entire thread and I agree with EW and WW, I was a nursing assistant in a nursing home many years ago and there need to be more people to support and protect her for that kind of procedure.

Well dawn is doing better fluide wise they are giving her Ginger Ale when ever she wants it now and she seems to keep it down,The bed sore Infection is slowly going away as for calling her in the hospital there is a phone there but it is not turned on as it costs extra and her Ins dont pay for it and she cant afford it the only thing that is free is the TV which she dont watch it often and when she does it is game shows well my dinner is cooked and i need to eat have not eaten all day i will come back and post more. Well today i learned that the Doctor chewed out the PT worker for allowing dawn to fall now there are 4 ppl with her in Therapy 1 on each side 1 in back and 1 in front so this does not happen again, They also gave her a tennis ball to squeeze and speech came in and started working with her In Order for her to come home i have to rearrange everything in the house cause she might be in a Wheelchair we dont know just yet, We already have the ramp from when her Grandmother was in a wheelchair so i wont have to have 1 built her bed has been moved here at the house she is in The Living room on the side of the TV so she can watch TV her computer is staying where it is no need to move that, She is keeping down the fluides and like i said before the infection is healing slowly, For Lunch today she had Broth ( Beef) Jello ( Strawberry) and Ginger Ale, The Nurses on the floor where she is now are great they look in on her every 15 mins to see if she needs anything and she is turned every 10 mins to prevent any other bed sores but other then that she looks good she has some color in her face, Well time for me to take a shower and watch a little TV then i think its bedtime for me all i am doing is twisting and turning all night so i am going to try a sleeping pill to see if that helps Good Night. Pat

Good evening Pat ~ Thank you for putting up the updates. I am so glad she has the 4 ppl she needs for safety during the PT. It is marvelous she is keeping things down and that the staff is more responsive to her needs. Hope the shower, and TV help you to relax and that the sleeping pill provides you with the added bit so you get a restful night's rest.
