Good Evening

Well here it is the 2nd day after Christmas and i have some good news for you all the breathing machine Dawn was on is no longer they took it off today she is breathing on her own and is going to be moved to another part of the hospital in a Semi Private room so she will no longer be in ICU they ahd her up and sitting on the edge of the bed for about 10 minsthe Doctor told me that in the next few days they are going to try and get her moving around even if it is for a few mins to get the blood flowing to her legs, Her legs now look like chicken legs they are so thin but they should regain muscle and strenght i am writting this while my supper is cooking so i will finish this and go eat take care. Pat

yesterday's post in regards to the feeding tube, totally understandable that Goldie didn't
want it there, but its needed.

Good evening

I am going to make this short and to the point as i am very tired, Goldie is doing fair she was moved to a Semi Private room the feeding tube may come out this weekend so they can start her on fluides they had her up for 5 mins today PT came by and will start PT with her on Friday and if she does well she MIGHT be home by the end of next week if not she has to go to rehab for 2 months well going to bed see you all later. Man what crazy weather we are having, Goldie is resting and doing ok the feeding tube will be removed on Sat according to the doctor then she goes on a Fluides only for 24 to give her tummy time to take it in and get use to having something solid in so this should be fun if i remember right the last time she had surgery they gave her Ginger ale right after she came out of it she could not keep it down so we will see how she does this time well my Dinner is ready so i am going to go and eat see you all later. Pat

Yea Goldie is going to be ok well she will need to go through therapy too, she has a long road to go, but she got through the toughest taking on death and winning.

Just read both posts....thank you for keeping us posted, good progress so
far for Goldie! that is going to be difficult having the PT done at home once
that happens, and a visiting nurse, but its going to have to be that way for a while.
every little bit counts towards recovery!

Update on Goldie

Good Evening

Well after a restless night's sleep i made it up to see Dawn she is holding up pretty good PT was hard on her today they made her get up and try and take a few steps which she had a hard time doing and it made her very tired and in alot of pain which they had to give her pain meds and on top of that she had a reaction to them made her break out in Hives all the way up both arms so they had to give her Benadryl after, come to find out they gave her Moraphine ( cant spell it right) which she is Allergic 2, She is Allergic to so many meds it aint funny but other then that she is doing good she tried to talk and she speech was slurred alot so i think they will have a speech and Language person working with her From what the Doctor told me today she is 1 Lucky Lady to have made it this far and to come out of the stroke alive, Well need to eat something and maybe watch a little TV or play on here for a bit then bedtime for me Take care. Sorry to hear you didn't have a good night. Hoping tonight is better for you.

So sorry to hear they found out her allergy to the Morphine that way. Glad she seems to be getting better each time you tell us about her. I am sure they will need to have lots of specialists working with her. It is so good she is with us. Crossing my fingers the feeding tube is removed. I believe you said it would be done over the weekend.

Keeping the two of you in my prayers; for healing and for strength. Have a fine time.
