I saw the link to Faireplay and I thought everyone might like a list of faires. If you go to www.faires.com they usually have a fairly complete list of faires all over the place. They even list most of the small ones.

Just stumbled by this thread, there's a NY faire this weekend, called Stockwood Faire... I don't have the link for it and I'm on the run but I've been before and it's pretty nice. Nothing compares to NYRF, but it's still good. *grin*

Myself,I personally like the Texas Ren Faire,followed by the Maryland one.The NY one is too constricted because of the space,but the atmosphrere is still the same.

BTW, va_angel or anyone, what's the deal with the Virginia RenFaire scene? I went to the MD one about 10 years ago, wouldn't mind another visit if I can swing it...but the Virginia one seems to be a traveling roadshow, in a different venue every weekend. Is it worth trying to get there when it's close to DC?

dont know, suga. Never been to the va one. Never hear about it till its over w/. Tho, the moving around might be where it is so new, that they are trying to find a local that it works well in (i know, a stretch, but...I tried... )

Scarborough Faire

I'm a regular at Scarborough (which is going on now) and dearly love to meet new folks there. Although not a SCAdian myself, I have numerous friends who are, and have been to a couple of their events. It's a wonderful time for all. Those who do go to Scarborough, don't miss Iris and Rose, the bawdy singing wenches. A half hour of raunchy music and fun!!!

I'm in Jersey, but got an email about a VA faire today... I heard that it had been shut down for 2 years or so and was back this year, which could be the reason for the travel. I've never been to either but I've heard good things about the MD faire.

What a shame to let this thread die. I'm going to try and reawaken it, since its been asleep for a month.

I love Ren Faires. My ren name is Castric, the castrator of fairies, stealer of souls, rouge, scandral, mecinary, assain. I give fairy testicles as faire favours. I go in garb of different styles, ran a booth this past Excalibur faire. Go to all the Texas faires, can't wait till fall. Looking for a wench in Texas to join me.
