Sarah Palin

otto:

you're cool with me, I was just making an observation...not wanting to offend anyone further is why I went with a parable style thing

LOL. Mind you, my tastes in beer are expensive. Not a big fan of most domestic brands. Too weak, no offense intended. Not enough Lowenbrau.

I am generally a drinker of rum, actually.

But a visit to Boston left me with a serious love/lust for Samuel Adams. And they just released Winter Lager.

Yum.

:)

So, I take it the beer discussion signals that Sarah Palin's fifteen minutes are up--at least for the AH(?) That's probably good news.

I think we've confirmed that she makes people want to drink and forget.

True. And I particularly want a shot of Jim Beam every time I hear of her. And I'm not even a Democrat! :D;)

As for beer.....well, I thoroughly agree with the beer snobs, since I'm one myself. Sam Adams, Foster's, Newcastle, Black & Tan- ANYTHING but the major brand, watered-down, pale beers.

Fat Tire is not bad, for a domestic brand. See, between Sam Adam and Fat Tire, I'm not a beer traitor.

Palin: Vice President "is in charge of the Senate."

Yes, she said it. She said it. I just saw the clip and am looking for it on YouTube. Meanwhile, for the amusement of we elitists, here's John Cleese's take on Palin's qualifications ("Monty Python could have written this!")

I saw the clip also, but what you failed to mention is that she was speaking to a group of second graders. Technically, she was incorrect, but it was easier to put it the way she did than to give a detailed factual description.

Just caught this little item at Matt Yglesias's blog at Think Progressive:

The Republican National Committee appears to have spent more than $150,000 to clothe and accessorize vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and her family since her surprise pick by John McCain in late August.

According to financial disclosure records, the accessorizing began in early September and included bills from Saks Fifth Avenue in St. Louis and New York for a combined $49,425.74.

The records also document a couple of big-time shopping trips to Neiman Marcus in Minneapolis, including one $75,062.63 spree in early September.

The RNC also spent $4,716.49 on hair and makeup through September after reporting no such costs in August.

And folks complained when John Edwards got a $400 haircut!

I wonder what sort of bill Tina Fey has run up.

Actually, Edwards has spent more than that on a haircut:

There is a fairly large extended family here and, unlike most politicians, they are not particularly rich. Presumably, this was to take care of several months, with cleaning facilities not always available.

The honest Republican cloth coat, you know.

We could always drink every time Sev says "I'm a libertarian." We'd stay drunk, but that's the purpose, I suppose.

That horse is dead. You don't have to flog it. I get that you don't agree with my smaller government philosophy.

No sense in seizing every chance to belittle me for it.

I have my own philosophy and the courage of my convictions. I am not, and never have been a liberal Democrat. Probably never will be. It's contrary to my view of the nature of Man and natural order of things. Not to mention my ideas of liberty and justice. That's not a reason to put me down all of the time.

It's not like I put you down for your ideology.

Let's just get off this topic and back to the beer game. It's more fun than dismissing each other's political beliefs.

You rightly get offended when people put down Mormons. It's the same way with me and Libertarians.

Kinda like teaching her 17 year old daughter about pregnancy by just telling her to not have sex because it's easier than going into all that nasty stuff about condoms and birth control.

When is the wedding, by the way?
