Sarah Palin

Ah... Sarah... Sarah
never were thee fairer
than when wearing haute couture,
I know you were never a poser.

To Alaska thy'n own
to sit on your throne
and spy Russians waving flags
spelling loser.

- well done Sarah, of course you will search the web for references to 'your campaign', and you might eventually light upon Lit, since Todd seems be of no other use than breeding. Just to say - if you get to this page - thanks for making the whole experience so amusing.

Perhaps the last things we'll hear about her on a national level...

She'll be back. This campaign gave her priceless national exposure, and hard-core Republicans adore her. Let's not forget, her rallies drew larger, more enthusiastic crowds than McCain's ever hoped to.

No one ever went broke underestimating public taste.

Very likely she will run for the Senate the next time the opportunity arises. That would be in 2010 or 2012.

That comment about her being wrapped in only a towel was quite inspiring. I wonder if anybody took pictures. I still have pleasant thoughts about the Miss Alaska video I saw a while ago, especially the shot of her walking away from the camera in her red bathing suit. :p

By the way, some might chide me for having such thoughts of a prominent female politician, but I remember threads discussing the relatively hunkiness of male officeholders, including Slick Willy Clinton.

You're supposed to provide links when you say stuff like that.

Okay, lets see if this works. It's not a high quality tape, but it is definitely a high quality body.

BTW, I heard she was wearing a bathrobe, not a towel. Not at all the same thing.

Indeed, it is not, but it's still kinda tacky. It has nothing to do with her being female; I think it's inappropriate in similar circumstances for anyone regardless of their sex.

You know, I'm really keen on MILFs with dark hair and I've never found Sarah Palin attractive. Some of it is physical, but I'm sure most of it is that she's a Christian fascist. I find her repugnant.

Plus, she has those high approval ratings in Alaska. And, being a senator with a background as a governor would give her a good resume for a presidential run in 2016 when she will be 51 (I think) years old. ;)

There is an edginess and coldness about her that reminds me of Hillary Clinton. Both of them I can picture running a police state. That's a bit of a turn-off.

Maybe and maybe not. If she's fully dressed except for her makeup, and is wearing a bathrobe to keep it off her clothing when she gets dessed, I see nothing wrong with that. On the other hand, if she's wearing nothing but a skimpy towel, or a short robe that is open in front :p (drool, slurp) that might make her subject to criticism by some people.

I can lust after somebody without liking her personally. :nana:

Me, too, but not if she reminds me of a praying mantis.

Whenever I see Sarah Palin I have an overwhelming urge to tie her up, ball-gag her, and do naughty things to her. This uppity MILF needs to be taught her place: at my feet, sucking my toes.

No, no. Her place would be lying on her back with her legs wrapped around my head. :p

Pray Silence!

Well Box, I suppose that will silence some of your political arguments which have got a number of Ah'ers annoyed with you in the last week or two. :D

Palin in the Senate?

Palin could name herself to Ted Stevens' Senate seat.

Stevens will win his re-election but won't be able to serve because of his felony conviction. The senate won't allow it, so he'll have to resign. That means Palin will get to name his replacement, and it's perfectly legal for her to name herself as his replacement. It's happened before.

The problem is, she'll take an effective pay cut, and going to DC would ruin her "outsider" argument for 2012, but she could do it.

You and Shereads been talkin'?

I'm crossing my fingers she doesn't have the gall to do this.

But you may be right.

Goddess help us all.

Speaking of Ted Stevens, has anyone else noticed the odd fact that election turnout in Alaska (as signified by reported totals of votes) is down more than 10% from the last presidential election? Nate Silver of fivethirtyeight.com has written about this and it really does seem odd. You'd think that Alaska would be one of the states with unusually high turnout so that the folks could say that they'd voted for one of their own.

Maybe I'm just cynical but I smell a connection between Stevens's quandary and the low number of reported totals.

Oh dear, Keith Olbermann would have a cardiac attack once a week if she were on the national stage. :D

I don't think anybody would have the gall to do that. But she might call a special election and announce that she is a candidate. The new senators take their seats in January and she would be elected two months or so after, if she won, and she would be the most junior senator there.

There's a whole lot of odd about the Alaska election. For one thing, polls that were accurate in every other state have been off by huge margins up there, particularly with the Stevens race. The other thing is the lack of interest - as measured by votes cast - in this presidential race. If Palin is so popular, why were fewer Alaskans voting this year than four years ago?

Meanwhile, in the Deep South...The North Carolina county where Palin introduced the idea of a "real America" that is more patriotic and genuine than latte-soaked urban America, went all maverick-y on her and voted for Obama-Biden.

Sometimes, all too rarely, life is sweet. Like dark thick honey, warmed in the sun, with a hint of spicy Karma.

She would be better off doing an excellent job where she is and appointing an ally to Stevens seat.
