Though they are fascinating, none of them fill me with dread. (They also make great story hooks).
Inward facing dread is at least more in your control.

And that is why I dread them. I can't cause vacuum decay, for example. I can, however, damage a person I love in ways small or large that neither heal nor scar over. I can allow myself to be open to a new experience that will shear another portion of my soul away. In claiming radical freedom, I can damage others. The fact I can control, to an extent, these weighs upon my soul and mind daily. Responsibility for myself and others I contact.
The worst flavors on that list are the taffy flavors.

I waffle between being horrified at how isolated the world would become if all of our satellites were knocked out & electronics died, but also somewhat optimistic how more connected we be in person without technology

Be happy in that. It was a complete bomb, so they let it go into the Public Domain, and poor cable companies, who didn't have to pay to use it, played the hell out of it until it's dour saccharine crap and poorly written moralizing brainwashed people into believing it was a classic holiday miracle.
