Sex & Shenanigans

Played a horror game last night. Short. 4 hours. Set up was fantastic; you play an AI on a space station that somehow over night ends up orbiting Saturn instead of earth.

Lovecraftian shenanigans ensue.

Then the story goes ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE!

This should be a crime. Like a felony. Grade A, straight to jail. I feel robbed. Like a sneeze that never shows up. Whyyy would someone greenlight this. I want more. By someone else.

RRRRRRAAAHHHH
story board games are at pretty high risk of the in my experience. Horror and Cthulhu often make it worse. So much lead up so little payoff.

What was the game? I do like short.

I'm not usually one for horror games - I love books and movies but when playing a game I hate feeling stressed. Usually. But cosmic horror and dread is manageable, I just don't like jump scares and running-sections.

Observation. It's currently 75% off on the winter sale so figured I'd give it a shot. The production value and voice acting is incredible, they just needed some writer who could actually tie it all up...

when I took a leave of absence …. The thread survived just fine.

I left @OrdinaryPerson and @Bry1313 in charge ..

Also @SalaciousMonkey22 is such a post whore it’s possible he could keep this thread going alone.
It survived, but it wasn't the same. No shade on OP and Bry, they did wonderful, but they aren't you. This is your place. Your mind, your creativity, your energy created this place, and it is shaped by you. Your energy, your...you. Just your youness. You lead, your direct. Your questions. Your dammed follow-up questions. Fuck, when you decide, no, you don't like where we are going so you add a bunch of secondary qualifiers. I am grinning thinking about that part. "Okay, you have 30 minutes until the world is destroyed, what do you do" "No, you can't travel." "No, no one is with you." "No, you can't do that." "Hey, why are you guys yelling at me? I'm just asking a question!" It is chaos, controlled and directed by you, dear heart.

You are, at your wonderful, beautiful heart, a humble person about this, so you don't like to hear it sometimes, but this place is what it is, as successful at what it does -- connecting people in an amazing way -- because of you. Yes, when you are gone it goes on. But it is neither as sexy nor shenanigany without you. It just isn't.

This place is you. And we love you for all you bring and are.

I hate that, in any medium, not just games -- books, movies, anything. When it starts soooo well, and then...peters out. Fuck, didn't you people know the end of this before you started? Or at least before you published it?

It’s so hard to stick the landing with horror. And my point about Cthulhu is that I think designers tend to m to heavily on the dread that the mythos brings with it rather than do their own work.

That being said, I give smaller indie developers a bit of a pass if the ride is good even if the ending is lackluster.

I guess some people enjoy being left unsatisfied 🤷‍♀️
There is a legend that Lenny Bruce would put cocaine on his cock and have a woman blow him before going on stage. The coke desensitized his cock, so he wouldn't come, which gave him this pissed off, desperate edge on stage, totally frustrated.

NMK.

Unable to use words after reading her reply 🥵🥵🥵
Hahah lies!!!
See, I'd start like the first text and then we can act out the second text. Also no one mentioned spanking. There has to be spanking.
I’ll admit, I like both parts. WHS and WSS! Spankings? ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY!

if he sent a spanking gift as a reply I’d want to see Amy’s jaw drop!😂😂
