Mirrors are terrible for my self esteem … they completely obliterate the “me” my brain thinks I look like.

For me, mirrors are whatev, but pictures are fucking brutal For every picture you guys see, there was cropping, possibly some light editing, and many more that were deleted

Mirrors make me feel way more handsome than pics. I guess I have a bit of self delusion that overwrites what I see in a mirror, because I hate the way I look in photos.

Oh there have been studies about how most people tend to prefer either pics OR mirrors, and the other option always feels wrong to them because it’s flipped horizontally!

I saw @crazychemgirl had been upset by this, and wanted to say, "Now hear me out..." Then I spent hours looking for a YouTube short video I saw a couple months ago. Never found it.
Someone had re-posted a video a woman had originally posted to her social media. She was driving and complaining that she was being discriminated against because she had a lot of tattoos. I was sympathetic for about a second and a half -- until I saw that prominent swastika tattooed on her neck. Then I went, "Oh, no." If I'm an employer in a retail operation? There's no way I can hire you with that.
She had a ton of tattoos, but that one unfortunate choice wiped out any chance at employment in a lot of industries.

Okay, but in that instance, I’m guessing she didn’t not get the job because she had tattoos, she didn’t get the job because she is/was a nazi

I have no problem with tattoos. I find them attractive actually when they are tastefully done.

And I think nowadays, most businesses/agencies have no major issues with most tattoos.

But I do think that complaining about lack of job opportunities when you have large neck or face tattoos (swastika or not) is kind of silly. When you are in some ways very much the "face" of a company, it is totally understandable they may not want you to have face or neck tattoos because that can put some people off and they probably don't want that to happen. And would they rather have the person they didn't hire whine or lose potential patrons? Easy business decision...
