Yeah that kinda throw me as well. So i kinda ignored it and just went with some of the other stuff. There might have been a JSA, but it would have been more secretive I think. Not known to the public. Maybe after the Justice League is known to the world there will be a little confrontation with the JSA. But as for right now we shouldn't know they exist. Maybe Jessi and Bart do though.

I was gonna work Jay Garrick into their origin. But he would have been a depowered version, one of the scientists working on the "flash of light" experiment. This was the source of Bart's using the man's name as an alias on one of his fake IDs in the episode "Run."

(Dunno if I can do that now.)

Oh yeah just to let everyone know. The way I see it, the Metahuman registration bill isn't going to pass. But it does add some tension for now, to those that are or will be heroes.

It's not entirely uncool.

I mean, this is a collaborative work, right? We wouldn't be working together on this thing if we thought our ideas were the only ones that mattered. Part of the fun and surprise of this stuff is getting to see what everyone else contributes.

So, in order to better fit Smallville I figure it is easiest to just combine the Original Blue Beetle, and Ted's origins. Here goes.

Ted Kord:

Height: 6 feet

Weight: 190 lbs.

Ted Kord is the nephew of the founder of Kord Industries, Jarvis Kord. Ted always wanted to follow in his father's foot steps however. His father, Dan Kord, was a police officer in Chicago. He worked hard, long hours. And every night, as he put his young son to bed, he told him why. He told him that everyone has the duty to make the world a better, and safer place.

When Ted was 14 his father was killed in the line of duty. Ted was devistated. He loved his father dearly. However he would move to his uncles, and begin attending college at the age of 16. He achieved high marks in all his subjects, was a NCAA wrestling champion, and was very active in sports. His genius level intellect, and his physical ability made becoming a cop seem like his destiny.

However, ever the jokester, Ted was thrown out of the police academy for playing a series of incredibly clever practical joke on the instructors. Ted, hurt and ashamed went back to Kord Industries. He was put in charge of their weapons research division, where he thrived. One night, while working on an exo-suit, he heard a call go out for all available units for a hostage crisis. Ted was only down the block and decided he would try to help. He donned the suit he had made, grabbed a few gadgets, and thus the Blue Beetle was born.

Ted Kord, has no super powers. Instead he relies on his gadgetry and intellect, and his incredible physical prowess to get him through.
