Snake's Lair

I'm leaving in a few minutes, and won't be back in town for a few weeks. This means I won't be here very much at all, and I won't have access to any IM deals.

Hope everyone has a great holiday, and gets lots of kisses. :D

I haven't bumped this thread in a million billion years so what the hell.

How is everyone in the playground doing? As for me ask if you want to know. :)

Oh, and go visit my pic thread ya bums. :p

Hehehe, I completely plan on visiting your pics thread as soon as I have a private moment. Nice to meet you, saw you on the Nerds thread.

I'm Kiya!

I have pics wandering about also and will more than happily bump you.

Anyhow I've decided to revive this thread somewhat.

First let me start off by saying I am sort of a snob when it comes to movies/literature/comics/music/art/poetry and I tend to be more critical than most people. For example I hated Hellboy II which a decent amount of people seem to like, and despite the fact I respect them I still don't like the band Nirvana. I guess you could call me an elitist, but I need a good plot, nice round characters that you can attach to, and something that is thought provoking. I can't enjoy mindless action, no matter how impressive.

To me, The Dark Knight is the best superhero/comic book movie I have ever seen, and one of the best movies I've seen in a while. Christopher Nolan did a masterful job, as did everyone else with the movie. There's a lot going on, and I actually had to see it twice to catch everything, but I loved it even more the second time.

You can't really talk about this movie without commenting on Heath Ledger as the Joker. While it was easily the best portrayal of the character I have ever seen (at least non-comic book format) it was also one of the most enjoyable performances I've seen. I'm not going to say I haven't seen better, but I can understand the Oscar hype around Heath's work in the film. He got The Joker exactly right. The writing for the character also was impeccable. The Joker stole the show.

Another big part of Nolan's Batman movies that I think are a little under appreciated is the creation of Gotham City as an active character. Gotham isn't just rooftops Batman runs across, it has a pulse all it's own.

Also, while there is definitely a decent amount of action, it doesn't go over the top like in a lot of movies. No one has had any issues with this because the movie has such an intense tone, everything comes off as heightened anyhow, so it tends to resonate more.

Basically I loved this movie, and if you haven't seen it get off your ass.

It's past the trade deadline, and my Rays are STILL in first place!

*happydance*

Rays are still going strong, albeit they lost tonight.

So how is everyone doing tonight?

I have a date!

Like, a date date.

Friday night me and this girl are going to eat and then listening to a band afterwords. I've already expressed my fear of dancing and she seems determined to teach me how lol.

This girl is pretty incredible to me and I really like her a lot. We seem to really get along which is great. Now I just have to not screw this up.

WHAT DO I WEAR!?!
