the directior talks at length about how he wanted the office to be done all in earth-tones and have a natural feel. he wanted to give a friendly impression of bdsm, rather than the steel dungeon chains on the wall thing most people think of.

Where did the director talk about this?

I believe that if you rent the DVD, there is a section where the director talks about the movie.

DVDS are so cool.

Perhaps bunny has more information.

I feel your pain, Richard. Those installation instructions might has well be in japanese.

It took Me a couple of days to get it hooked up. I had to get a RF Modulator first.

I *really* need to see this movie..... with the way everyone is talking about it.. :)

It is interesting. Let's face it, James Spader is the king of weird movies.

It is a converter for TVs so that they can use a DVD player.

Newer TVs do not need it, I believe.

My girlfriend just loves James Spader. I don't know why, but she thinks he's totally hot. I just kind of say "okay, dear"!

I think I may have to watch Sex, Lies and Videotapes again to see if there are some D/s elements in it.

White Palace is a good one where he is in a relationship with an older woman.

Geez! just how old is your TV? Is it at least color? An RF modulator is rather extreme.

Allows simultaneous connection of up to three A/V devices to any TV not equipped with an audio/video jack.

Converts composite (RCA type) outputs from any DVD player, camcorder or game system into coaxial input signals.

Quickly switch from one component to another at the touch of a button.

My TV was not DVD ready, it is now!

Naw, that is what it is made for.
OK, I'm still confused. Are you not calling this by the correct name, and mean an RF converter, like an F-connector, or something? Or, are you actually talking about a real Radio Frequency modulating device that fits between your DVD player and TV? That would mean your TV was made back in the later 70s, maybe?

Don't mind me, just trying to understand this. I know these things, and it seems so unlikely this would be necessary. If you can, enlighten me on the process you had to take.
Oh, now, if you are in the UK, well, that could make a big difference with some of this.

Send me a PM if you feel it works best, and if you want, just tell me to fuck off. I can take it. :)

Oh, sneaky you! You edited this post while I was writing the next one.
You have a switch box, then. Yes, that is more a connection converter, and it can be necessary because some older TVs don't have the RCA connectors. Some TVs don't even have the coax that it seems yours has. All the older ones had were a couple of screws in the back for an antenna. Then, you needed an F-connector just to get a coax to work. Then, from there, you could convert to the RCA connectors that video cams and VCRs send. And, DVD, too.

Actually the one I have only does the middle thing: it changes the signals so that the DVD will work.

Think it is that odd mix of vulnerability that sometimes comes through the sexy relaxed, almost detached, look, and his smile which speaks volumes in some parts.

Argh, still need to see this movie!

I haven't rented a movie by myself in over three years. Haven't had cable TV for nearly two years. Watch perhaps 1-2 hours of TV a week. Do not play videogames.

But I do go the movie theater about 5-7 times a month. And half of those times I go alone....nothing strange about it. Who am I going to go see subtitled movies with? I have gone to see movies where I am the only person in the theater dozens of times. And there was even a movie where the theater manager told me I was the only one who saw it during a two week run!

I go with friends to see shit like Terminator3 but there is just no way someone will willingly go see something called "L' Homme du train" with me! And I don't like to have to explain stuff and deal with people who aren't into it, so I just go see the independent or offbeat movies alone. lol

Personally, I thought it was just one of those artsy films that is too wierd to bother watching more than once. I might again, but it is likely I will fall asleep during the show. I bought it to watch it so I might also turn it on to see about those special features.

Someone told me it is coming to one or more of the premium channels next month.

My wife and I watched this movie and I was a little bored but after it was all over we wtill talk about it to this day. She absolutly loved the movie and the more that I think about it, the movie was well done. I am going to have to go see if I can find the DVD here in Canada. I hope so. That would be an awesome present for my wife. She would be very impressed (and maybe she would bend over the desk in my office with her elbows on the table and her palms facing downwards also

A great movie, we give it 4 thumbs up.

I don't get the red I thing, must've been a thing that I missed when the thread was started BUT

I reciently saw secretary and though the ending was sweet and lovely I expected more from it, so many people hyped it up and I was definetly hoping for more. It was well done in the beginning though, suprising, and it got us going after it was done -lol- but I suppose if it wasn't all hyped up to me I would have found the move quite *ahem* stimulating.

It finally came to my podunk video store where I live... rented it last night and have to say that I enjoyed it from many angles.

I agree with several about the cutting aspect. I don't believe subs have to come from any sort of background in particular... my tendencies don't have anything to do with my childhood.

I did enjoy the struggle Mr. Grey went thru in his decision to take her and totally agree with Arden on the tub and tree scenes!!

I used the desk scene in a phone conversation this morning, too!

I may just have to get myself a copy to add to my erotica collection.... ~smile~

I'm with your girlfriend. James Spader IS hot!! It's his smile....it's like he knows something you don't and it amuses him.

So Now I Finally Saw The Movie...

It made me cry. It was so sad. I was like "Go to her or she's gonna hurt herself again!" but then she didn't and I was okay.
