Something to think about today

Always remember that one special person in your life. Because someday they might not be there. Remember to tell them exactly how you feel. Just like the Grath Brooks song. "if Tommorrow Never Comes"

There are two ways to look at life. One is as though nothing is a miracle; the other is as though everything is.

amen.. I so agree with this Cate.
thank you

Tought I would merge what Nightbird said with what Calthleen said.

If you think things are bad now, imagine the most important person in your life and imagine how bad things would be if THEY were gone.

This help keep things in perspective for me.

P.S. Where is our host here?

Great thoughts everyone. I nearly lost my best friend recently over something stupid. I'm glad I was humble enough to make ammends and keep them close to me.

that says alot about the kind of person you are.

RD, I agree with BabyD, making ammends when we're wrong is a gift we receive when given. Good for you. When we're humbled we look up.

I received this quote today....

We must not give only what we have; we must give what we are.

Cardinal Mercia

Thank you Cathleen. I apreciate the kind words you and Babydoll have given me.

You know I have to say, the bitterness of the humble pie you eat will fade much faster than the loss of someone close to you.

Good friends are too hard to come by to let slip away due to foolishness or pride.

I couldn't agree with you more RD

this is so true RD

Please think before you say or do anything tht might hurt someone you care about either as a friend or otherwise because both words and actions hurt quicker andn deeper then any gun or knife can do.

To me the most important person in your life is the other person. If you make a mistake admit it. Learn from your past mistakes so you are not destined to repeat them. Do not live in the past as you will never be happy in the present and always plan in the present for the future.

I like this allot MR. It speaks to someone that chooses to remain focused on the positive things in life. The things we can change and impact in the future. To move forward. To look ahead.

Dwelling on the past and what has happened to you or what was done to you will eat you up inside. It is not healthy nor is it constructive.

Fortunately for me, I am so busy, I rarely have time to look back. Always pressing forward. That's me! :)

Observe the wonders as they occur around you. Don't claim them. Feel the artistry moving through and be silent.

Morning Cate,

Your quote for today touched me starting yesterday. I walked through the Garden Center at Target and two plants reached out to me. Their colors caught my eye and the shape of the leaves on the Coleus fascinated me; I just had to have them at home. I put them out on my patio this morning and I just want to sit and look at their beauty with a smile on my face. Isn't it amazing how the little things can awe you?

Thank you all for keeping this thread alive...

Babydoll, thanks for the bump.
Cate, thank you for the well wishes while I have been gone.
RD, some great thoughts
MR, thanks for your contribution as well.
Shy, thanks for stopping by and adding your insight.
Denae, as always, some wonderful thoughts to share.

One of the many things I love about backpacking is seeing the great outdoors and apreciating the beauty of Mother Nature.

Bump for a good friend.

Nice to see you back dc.

I heard something special about you but I'm not telling. ;)

Thanks TNT.

But don't believe everything you hear. Especially about me! ;)

Today I will pay attention to my own thought of the day.

It's easier to go down a hill than up it but the view is much better at the top.

I need to do something I have avoided but I know it will make me happier in the end. So today I will begin the journey forward and upward, looking forward to the better view.

That first step is always the most difficult to take, but then you find the rhythm and before you know it you'll find yourself in the homestretch.

Best wishes to DC and everyone else who has a journey or task ahead of them.

Just remember as you do the uncomfortable, it becomes comfortable. :rose:

Denae,

Thanks for the words of encouragement. The journey is always easier when you have a friend to help you along the way. I like to think I am that kind of friend too for those around me that need a hand or a little push to get them started. ;)

Cate,

That quote is so true. In natrue, in life. Applies to people too don't you think. Don't know why, but I have been thinking about snow a lot lately. For those of us that rarely see it, it is beautiful indeed. Just like someone I know. :rose:

Hope everyone has a great day!

remember that when you love someone that their needs have to be your at your foremost thoughts. If they think the same way and you can discuss everything without getting upset then you will have a wonderful relationship

It is a curious thought, but it is only when you see people looking ridiculous that you realize just how much you love them.

-Agatha Christie

Now, this is just a great thought, in my opinion. Kind of gives us the freedom to be real. ;)

Now, DC, I must inform you that I am no longer discussing weather this winter. It has been quite uncivilized and until it straightens out and behaves far better, I have nothing nice to say. ;)
