Something to think about today

Now, DC, I must inform you that I am no longer discussing weather this winter. It has been quite uncivilized and until it straightens out and behaves far better, I have nothing nice to say. ;)

I was wondering if you were still enjoying the winterwonderland.

I used to hate the rain. Associated it with a time when my family left California where I was incredibly happy, but being 14 I had no choice, and moved to Montana where I was extremely isolated. I was used to moving all of the time, as my Mother's job kept us moving every couple of years. But Montana was the most cliqueish (?word) of all. Long story short, it rained for many of the days leading up to our last day and I associated rain with sadness.

Now I live in Arizona where there is little rain and when it does rain I'm ready for the sunshine after one day. In January and February we received near record amounts of rain=the third highest totals in 100 years--but I didn't mind it at all. I loved it for the first time in memory.

Hi Den, that is interesting....

Now after saying all that about not talking about weather, last Tuesday I woke to the quintessential 'winter wonderland'. It was one of the most beautiful snowfalls I've ever seen. See it can't it let me really hate it. ;)

How are you twin?

I'm fine. :D

We had a beautiful snow a couple of weeks ago. Did I really say that? Well it was gorgeous.........a wet snow of about 2 inches. The bushes and trees were beautiful and it was gone by noon. A beautiful snow.

DGO is definitely on her game today.

BTW, I mentioned last weekend that you had a garlic soup recipe that I want to try and several posters said they'd like to see the recipe too.

Lots of garlic lovers here it seems.

I wonder if ..........oh well, that's another story.

The problem with the recipe is that I've long ago lost the exact measurements.

Roast one head of garlic.

Saute one cup of white rice in olive oil. Don't let the rice burn, just change to a pearly color. Add 1/2 cup chopped onion, salt to taste, the roasted gralic and enough chicken stock to cook.

Cook until the rice is done. Puree the soup in a blender until smooth. If it's too thick, add a little broth. Top with asiago cheese.

I usually use more than one head of garlic, because I love it.

I heard something today on the tv this morning. Talked about relationships, career, and just about anything you dio in your life. It was the 4 p's

Passion (you must be passionate about anything you do be it career or
relationship)

Persaverance (never ever give up if you truly believe in it)

Patience ( do not rush things. Be willing to let them flow and follow the

natural course of things

Providence It is the fruition of youer labors. You will not reach this stage
unless you follow the previous three.

Wow this thread was busy this weekend! But sadly, no dcraz...

DGO and Cathleen, I'm with dcraz. I only see snow once or twice a year and never like what you gals get. So of course, we love what we don't have right? I love the snow! Will be heading to a long spring break ski trip with some GFs of mine. I can't wait!!!!

Ever get "lost in thought" ?

I wonder do we actually think when we are lost in thought? Is it conscious or unconscious?

Do just once what others say you can't do, and you will never pay attention to their limitations again. - James R. Cook

I believe some people are meant to spend their lives alone-no long term partner or husband/wife.

Do you think that is an erroneous thought/belief?

I believe no person is an Island and we all need companionship. I'm not saying we are all meant to live with someone 24/7 but I think we are all meant to at least have a special friend to spend weekends with. After all everyone needs to be loved and to make love.

I didn't mean completely alone like an island, without friends.

Are you saying that everyone has to have someone to make love with or else they are truly alone?
