Og,

"Things That Go Hump in the Night" has obviously bumped everyone else for first place:

day one totals = 169 votes, score 4.86
day two totals = 268 votes, score 4.87

Do you think your Morose Monk has the inside track for the coveted last place trophy? I haven't voted yet and need to know which way to throw my weight, voting-wise.

No. 'Absorbed' is my pick for last IF no one else votes but my latest submission 'Miranda the Witch' is the real contender if it gets posted in time.

'Miranda' is LONG, posted late so no time to accumulate 25 votes and probably won't get anywhere near 25 because few people will read 26,800 words before voting, and should annoy a few into giving 1s. A low rating, combined by a small number of votes, should ensure a competition value of 1.xx - a surefire last place.

I finally got a chance to sit down and read a bunch of the Halloween stories last night, after not having kept up for a couple of weeks. And wow! I mean, wow! So much great stuff! I'm determined to read the rest this weekend, but wanted to say kudos to everyone!

Your stuff isn't exactly chopped liver, SD. But between you and me, if "Miranda" gets posted, it looks like the Great Og may have come up with the ultimate last place contender.

We've read a lot of the contest entries. WOW, things have really changed in the three years we've been gone. There are a lot of quality writers out here now. It's exciting! We only have one story in the contest. It's our first posted in a long long time. Probably should have written more, but it just seems that the Erotic Horror catagory which is my first love is constantly underated. The stories there deserve much better scores. After watching the better writers in there getting slammed we decided to just stay with the entry we have and see what happened.

Good luck everyone. It feels really good to be back here at Lit!

OK, I admit it. I am green with envy.
How the f*&ck do you get that many votes in one day?
I submitted very early this contest in hopes of getting more votes.
Yea, right. My story has been up for three weeks and has a measly 46 votes.

This is really depressing.

:(

I have to wonder how it can get so many votes also, especially so many fives. It is five pages long and I read the first page and stopped, finding it rather boring and not at all erotic.

The last time I checked, which was a few minutes ago, my story in the E/H category, had 80 votes and an average of 4.58 which would put it well out of the money.

Good luck to everyone in the contest. Life came in the way, so couldn't finish my story on time. Still trying to read through all the entries! Gosh, there are so many of them!

/LP

Sorry, LP69, 4 of them are my fault and my fifth is LONG.

I had another ploy to make sure that my last entry will come last.

In the forthcoming 'Miranda the Witch' the word 'Halloween' occurs only once - in the last sentence of 26,800 words.

Sneaky Og.

*sigh*

I made it to the part where she picks up her she-devil costume... and then I fell asleep.

No contest for me this year either. I'll just save my strength for NaNo.

That many votes LOL

Although depression can set in when you you've gave it your all and then boom, the "1" symdrome strikes. You watch your score go steadily down with just a few added votes.

I read and voted on as many stories as i could - thanks to everyone who voted and left a PC on my story - I really enjoyed writing my story - obviously its not going to win - I never thought it would but I would have liked for the 1 bombers to have been bombed!!

My last entry, Miranda the Witch, is posted - but NOT in the contest.:(

I did submit it on Friday with more than 12 hours to go but it was always possible that I might be too late. If I hadn't edited it I might have been a day earlier...

Oh well. At least I have only 5 more submissions to go to reach 100 as Og. I've already reached 100 if you add the ones submitted as Jeanne.

Og

Og,

Apparently you and Alex both got left out in the cold. This was a strange contest. One writer, LadyLay, submitted two stories on the 19th with Halloween references. but only one, Texas Red, is in the contest.

That's a good thing for the other contestants with high scores because the story that isn't in the contest, Bittersweet Memories, has a 4.87 score and about 40 votes. Even "Things That Go Hump" with its paltry 340 votes and mere 4.83 score after three days, couldn't bump that.

Rumple Foreskin

Alex de Kok's new entry is well worth reading even if you don't like Incest. She's his cousin so doesn't break so many taboos.

My Miranda the Witch ended up as 8 Lit pages, rather long for a late contest entry.

I'll have to revise it sometime because there is much more to their story than I could get in before Friday.

Now to read some more entries.

Og

I have just looked at the 'New' list.

It looks as if there are a large number of stories that were intended for the Halloween contest but missed out.

It is some consolation that I am not the only one.

Og

It's up!

'Miranda the Witch' that is.

Posted in the Halloween Contest along with several new entries. If you intended to read all of them - there are now a lot more.

Og doing the banana dance :nana:

PS. 'It's up' does not normally require an exclamation mark. Even at my advanced age 'It's up' is a still normal response to an attractive woman.

Congratulations, Og, on both counts.

"It's UP," from a person such as myself is more likely to employ a question mark.

?

Without the assistance of a quartet of AH members, especially Colley's editorial suggestions, my
Halloween Story: "Phantom of the Rush Hour" would not now even be in the running for last place.

Thank you to those who have read, voted and posted PCs on my Halloween entries, especially those who survived the length of 'Miranda the Witch'.

One anonymous feedback gave up at Chapter 15 - so close to the end.

Og

After some intial see-sawing between 4.70 and 4.00, my ONE (1) entry settled into modest mediocrity. However, its current totals: 69 votes, 19500 views, 10 nice pc's, and a 4.55 score are way more than it deserves, so I'm content.

Rumple Foreskin

:) My one entry was never really a strong contender but after hanging in the high 4.5's it jumped up to 4.62 with 82 votes. There are also nine nice PC's attached which is the most I have ever gotten on any of my stories. I didn't expect to win and I am satisfied with that.

I read at least one story, voted and left a PC for all the authors on AH so I feel allright about that also.:)
