The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

I'm eager to hear your MP3 solution, H! 🎵🎶
Here you go Lilli…I guess I should have asked how you want to use this first, but this new WiiM pre amp, streamer allows you to put a USB in back so you can catalog your music. They have a couple of Different platforms (I like the Ultra) and will probably ask Santa for that…😄. Everyone is very excited about this thing in the HiFi world. At least all the reviews are pretty good.

Soooo…need a nurses advice…I’ve had a pain under both scapulas for a little over a month. Went to the Ortho doc yesterday and had X-rays. Spine looks good but they now want me to go to a Cardio doc for more X-rays to rule out aneurisms?😮. The PA said back pain can be a side effect of that…Thorasic something or other? First question…how concerned should I be? Second, is this more that I’ve turned into a slug as of late and not getting enough exercise? Don’t want to be buzzard bait yet!

On that nice note…some MZ…

No. I take a lot of pictures. My current phone has a 100X zoom. The S24 Ultra has a 200X zoom. That's the seduction for me.

iTunes used to have an app for Android. They no longer do. All my actual CDs are ripped to Windows Media and to iTunes. I've recently just started purchasing my music as MP3. I'm still looking for a decent player. I use Amazon Music, but it cuts out a lot. Very frustrating when I'm on a walk or in the gym. 😤
Ah! I see you need a mobile solution. Disregard the above post! That’s a home solution. I’ll look around and try and find something you could possibly use. I’ve been an apple geek for so long, I’ve sort of tuned out a lot of the other platforms.

I’ll find something though…

Edit: Some of these might fit the bill?

I work for the Army, and yes they can force me to pay up to, and including, wage garnishments or taking it out of any Federal tax refund I may be eligible for. The rules that apply to private sector employers don’t apply to the Federal sector.
I know the dod disa play by different rules but there has to be a way for mediation. That is too much power to have over you. “They” could set you up to the point you fight it and mess with your retirement. Lawyering up would be costly as to prove your innocence you would have to discover what happened to the stuff in some other building not in your control. I hope you win this to the point the source of your threat is penalized. He or she should not be in a leadership position.
I saw in another post your debit card issue. I don’t have a solution for replacement. However, in the future for your safety don’t use your debit card. Use a credit card and pay the balance off twice monthly. That way you collect points. And when you spend money it is someone else’s. That way when there is a spurious charge the investigation is on the bank for the bank. Not your money you earned and put in the bank. For cash if you need it draw directly from the bank or atm at the bank. If you have to insert or swipe your card there is potential for danger. Chip readers are hard to disguise and therefore safest. I don’t use much cash but do keep a stash in my safe. Working in DC I learned very quick one should never carry cash.
Just sayin. I started collecting points like this many years ago. Even paying car insurance cable electric gas bills everything through the card. With over a million miles I’ll get a few plane tickets. Or as of late I discovered I can register the points as a separate card on my Amazon account. It’s like buying stuff for free.

It sounds like you are still listening to music stored in the cloud. Is there a player for android that can see your music? That is exactly how I got converted to iPhone. I had sucked all my music into iTunes from cd. And cross populated libraries with friends and family. I refuse to purchase music in the cloud to store in the cloud. I haven’t sat down at my computer to look in the physical library. I think iTunes Match converted mp3 if they had a better recording. Otherwise digitally unidentified mp3 remain in my library. I know I had mp3. I have videos of concerts in iTunes as well. I thought mp4? I’m dependent enough on the phone. I get their business model and own their stock but I can’t stand feeling I blindly gave them money. I’m old fashioned that way.
Apple eliminated the iPod when the available space on phones became large enough to eliminate the platform.
Now to avoid the cloud you have to be careful when buying a car. You must evaluate how many of the features of the car are dependent on bandwidth from your device and if the car can access your device for music without using bandwidth (cloud).
I know I sound paranoid. But your mobile number is tracked no matter what you think. It’s not just the cost of the bandwidth. It is difficult but years ago I converted my copper land line number to ip. You cannot text to or from it. That is the phone number associated to my identity. No financial transactions or accounts are associated with my mobile number. No finance insurance credit any kind of app is used on my device that could pass my actual identity to associate with a liability back to my mobile number. The only thing less safe than your mobile device is a hand written paper check. Or maybe something like lifelock where you gather your mobile number ssn all your passwords and accounts in one place neatly lined up for someone to hack.

I blame my bladder but my urologist says a hormone that controls the urge decreases with age. Argh
Will kegals help? I’m a guy. But I did some damage riding my bike. The urologist sent me to physical therapy where they walked me through 3 types of kegal exorcises. I still go to sleep around 10 but often don’t wake up until after the sun is up.
Very annoying exorcises to me. It took a lot of perseverance to keep it up. I didn’t see or feel results for 10 or 12 weeks. Now I really like the results and try to fit them in daily. I wasn’t feeling old, but oh to feel young again! Who knew.

Have you tried a heated eye mask? That might help.
I use one I found online for @ $20/25 to help with my dry eye. It's USB, so I can take it anywhere and plug it into a desktop, laptop, power bank, or wall charger - even the car charger (provided I'm a passenger). It has several temperature and time settings. I put a damp washcloth over my eyes and the mask on top for a warm compress that lasts a good half hour or so.

Thanks for the advice. I’m already working with my bank on the debit card issue. I don’t use credit cards, just a personal choice. It’s not worth lawyering up for two outdated monitors. Of course there is an appeals process, and there are other contributing factors that may relieve me from liability, but having been an investigating officer for similar losses in other organizations on the installation there could be a good chance I’m found liable. I signed for the property, and I didn’t take appropriate measures to protect it. I could have told my boss to pound sand, either he signs for the monitors (which was supposed to happen but never did) or I being the back to my office where I can control access. Of course I’m trying to be a team player and I caught it in the ass - again. After 40 and a half years working for the Army as a Soldier and civilian this isn’t the first time the big green weenie has screwed me. The irony is that the Army has failed multiple audits and has lost accountability of billions of dollars of equipment but they will hold my nuts over the fire for $400 worth of equipment. I truly appreciate everyone’s support and advice. I’ve played this game before and I was caught up in the anger of the moment. The past two weeks have been successive kicks in my crotch and it gets tiring. Thank’s everyone.

Heated mask sounds very interesting. Is there a brand?

You should take another look at credit cards. There are many choices with collectible points and no annual fee. You have 30 days to pay and avoid interest on your charges. It is the same as spending cash only it is their cash. With quicken it does give you a simple way to document every transaction.
And yes my experience as SME to .mil was very frustrating. All kinds of required checks and balences that cost time and money only to find it wasn’t balanced and the deviation partially documented.
Elon and Vivek sound like a great idea. But they won’t have the clearance for the clearance necessary to get to the bottom of it. Those who do will continue to protect what they think they have.

Absolutely! Although I tend to keep my phone in the "bra pocket!" 🤣🤣 However, after learning about @Noor's mishap, I make sure to place it battery side out. Mine is always in a wallet case, also.

Mine was in a case.if you phone starts feeling hot at all, move it to a different place. The burn is still healing, and it was deep. It looked ok in the 3d mammograms though.
