I flung a few off the nest we had back then. There was one rooster that made me mad for some reason, and I chased it. Later that day my uncle asked me about the rooster, it had died, i guess from heat exhaustion.

I love Ginger Tea with honey and lemon. Sometimes I add turmeric.

Trader Joe's makes a Ginger Turmeric tea. I don't add sweetener to my tea. And need to avoid citrus - it flares the arthritis in my joints.

I love it if I don't have to drive in it!

That's not how it's done. You go to bed and then wake up for whatever and can't get back to sleep. But I hope you do get to sleep.

Right? I was up for the 1am, 3am, 4 or 5am (didn't look at the clock) clubs but kept going back. Not as tired as I expected today - which is good. Mid-day appointment so no lunch nap. I'm sure the cold will help keep me awake

It’s cold but not as much as yesterday. I’m ready for a warming trend and it’s not even January! Time for the fireplace and long winter naps

Dead end cul-de-sac. We're so far down the list. Interstate - Highway - major road - secondary road - I think we're another 2 or 3 down the line yet

Sort of a cross between tennis and squash. Tennis type court but enclosed so you can use the sides. Mostly played in doubles.

I taste frosting and if sickening sweet i add a little salt. It will tone down the sweetness...

Not me - I offer it to those around me or just scrape and toss. All frosting is too sweet for me. I even had to change tomato sauces because I could taste too much sugar in them. This was before the gravy recipe and back when I was still eating tomatoes.

Send the frosting over to me. I love it straight up.

Heads up - Carrot Cake is the only type of cake I like... but I hate that cream cheese frosting that gets mounded all over it. I always cut the cake out and give away that frosting.

Busy day, too far back to catch up on the fastest moving thread in the history of Lit.

It was 18f this morning but I went for three! Only came up to 19f by the time I got to the park. Four of us die hards and two dog walkers. Had the place to myself practically!

Hope all had a wonderful weekend. Christmas cards today. Yes, I still do them. Stay warm amigos!

I had to do that for my mom in her last few years, too. Thankfully she didn't have sidewalks in her neighborhood, so unless she needed to go out somewhere, I had some wiggle room with the snow clearing.

Meeting scorecard.

8-9 finished in 36 mins. Win
9-930 needed in 22 mins Win
930-10 needed 15 mins Win
10-11 needed all time but was a productive meeting. Moral win?
11-12 went 13 mins over and I was not even needed on the fucking meeting Loss

My 3-345 meeting was moved to January. Win.

This leaves me with a couple of additional and hopefully short meetings.

So 4-1-1 for the day so far.

Was the 61 Impala a stick with no power steering? I learned on one that had “ 3 on the tree” stick shift. It was not easy but I was desperate for freedom and learned!

All of my anvils have three-on-the-tree. Some have overdrive. You don't slam/power-shift a three-tree because the linkage is long and it is possible to tangle it up and make a royal mess. It's not too hard to fix, they tell me. I have yet to fuck that one up.

Writing out the Christmas cards and putting people (mostly family) on the naughty and nice list (who gets a card this year or not) and we get a call from the DiL…wants to know if we’re cooking the Roast Beast for Christmas supper.

It seems his Highness (our oldest) wants his mother to make a Roast with figs and cloves, and pears and very Christamssy dish. SWMBO is waffling and trying to hit the easy button when I pipe up and say, why don’t we spilt the baby and all do different things for this? Both gals are sorta kinda trying to get outta of this when I add…”Momma used to do it ALL…”

Nothing like shaming your spouse by comparing her to your mother…
