The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

I frequently just tell people that I’m allergic to food. Apparently, I am also allergic to showers now. Honestly, none of this crap makes any difference at all.
The only time I remember my nose running like that before is going outside when it is really cold in NJ. Specially if it was still snowing or I was shoveling snow. It happened to pretty much everyone. Being from the south I had never experienced it before.

I wish i had some cookies
Gonna make some this weekend to take on a work trip tues weds

I also got cocoa and bittermilk for some chocolate loaf cake

I make stuff have a bite then take it to other people ... i would gain it all back
I used to do that. Take stuff to work. My desk was a more social place. And like you I could have a cookie without downing the whole batch myself.

It's a RayBan day, here. If you're not wearing shades outside, you're going to go blind.
Here too. It was raining when I left and stopped. Maui Jims on ever since. I picked up mine with frames instead of wrap. I need a baseball hat for the shade. The suns coming in between my glasses and forehead so bright.
It’s 85 now and the wind they promised never picked up. Sweltering waiting here in the parking lot…

I wish i knew how to post videos ... gracie cat is so funny
I swear I saw you @Missk_2022 say earlier you were looking for or browsing recipes.

I've found a few that were really good on food52.com. Specially liked the site because limited adds and if you sign on with an email it lets you keep notes and tick off favorites so you can find them.

Now that it is lent I have been having fun with damndelicious.net. This site you will get mail from but its not too bad. I'm not always a big recipe follower when it comes to main dishes or sides so I get a bunch of ideas. The chicken divan she is pushing this week I am going to replace cheddar with parm and maybe tinker with the veggies and replace chicken with some kind of fish or maybe bay scallops.

With the no meat on Friday thing for the ladies is supposed to represent fasting. I find the meals I make on Friday during lent are really good. And while it is cold, hearty. Exact opposite of fasting. Pricey too.

Saveur used to have great cookbooks and a magazine is back as web based. The recipes, many are outlandish for my time and effort. Or just too fancy. It is hard to search too. However, the occasional emailed recipes do have some good links. I got a Beef Stroganoff from there that is off the hook good and doesn't rely on flour or sour cream for consistency. It does take some patience. The process to imbue the flavors into the beef is multiple steps. I need multiple bottles of white wine when I do it too. One gets in the food and we drink the rest. To cut down this year I used a good savignon blanc. Chardonnay is a white wine I just can't quit or don't know when to. Well worth the effort. Its a once a year thing now.

I had heard so much about Hershey chocolate in the decades before I finally travelled to the U.S. When I eventually got to try it I was underwhelmed, to say the least.
soy lecithin?

Rumor has it a lot of Europeans don't like our chocolate because of that. We have a friend on the isles, who brings bags of M&M for us, because they taste different than ours.

Been snowing all day here. Is anyone even the least bit surprised? 😂

Lazy night tonight. Might do some reading, and not worry about dozing off if it comes to that. Sometimes that's what happens...
Here snow of any substance is a once every couple of years kind of thing. Years like this ours was easy to move. So it comes and goes like an event. Pray the power stays on and feast sleep and keep warm. I’m not sure how I would tolerate repeat events. Sorry for you. Hope it’s not a problem.
