The AH Coffee Shop and Reading Room 09

@dmallord - Maybe Gary Seven will show up and save the day?

@NotWise and @_Lynn_ - I've had daffodils out for a couple of weeks. A very colorful start to Spring.

There's a fresh pot of coffee brewing and I've ordered the cappuccino machine. I'll need a plumber in here to put in some water lines, so there's a collection jar on the counter for anyone to throw in a buck or two for it. The teapot is boiling for those who want a hot cuppa. Beside the collection jar are some donuts and baked croissant cinnamon french toast.

My story is really coming together and I'm so glad I fought through that dry patch where I just couldn't find any words. I'll be over in the corner muttering as my fingers try to keep up with the story as it comes to me ...

Here, daffodil's passed a month ago and tulips did their thing around the beginning of April.

We had a frost last night. It's been years since we had a frost this late. I have autumn sage flowering, garlic mostly grown, hyacinths cycling down, and gladiolas coming up. It was early when I checked on them. I'll wait for things to thaw out and check again, then I'll plant another batch of glads.

We have Easter dinner with my oldest daughter's in-laws this afternoon.

Happy Easter, y'all.

Ah, Seven and the cat. Well, perhaps that would be a better choice than what I have so far. I don't think Picard would have approved of my version.

My youthful lass is pulled out of a crashed Mobius warp machine by an Earthling.

We had a very nice Easter; my nephew invited all the immediate family to his family's new home (about a year since they moved in). West of Austin, TX by about 30 miles.

A nice day was had by all--me, my brother and his wife, both my daughters and their spouse(s). Two of my four grand kids; five of my six great grands, both my sister's boys, their wives, and most of their multitude of kids, my brother in law (sister died in 2020). My only (living) cousin (age 87) and his wife.

With any luck we will be able to do it again next year; last year the other cousin wasn't able to make it to the family reunion and died somewhat unexpectedly, at age 87. I come from a long lived bunch of people; Dad died at 103, Mom at 91 after living with MS for 50 years.

Our Easter has been disrupted by a kangaroo. We were heading to my parents place with the pup, but their dog got kicked by a (luckily small) young roo. Twelve stitches and a cone later, we agreed having a puppy bounding around isn't a good idea.

Our get together was smaller.

A uniquely Australian problem. Hope the pup's OK.

Our group has been getting smaller each year. Partly because of the middle generation moving away, but mostly because my daughter's father-in-law stopped inviting his family. They caused too much drama for the day to be fun. Today it was immediate family on both sides.

@dmallord - perhaps she is Louise Baltimore?

I've got a plumber scheduled and I'm going to order the cappuccino machine soon. The tip jar is a little light so I need some more help. I've got a fresh pot of coffee going and the teapot is hot. There are muffins and Raspberry Cream Cheese Pinwheels on the counter next to the tip jar (hint hint).

My heroine is currently sneaking into a den of iniquity, looking for the evidence she needs to solve her case. I'll be over in the corner trying to figure out if she does ...

I was having trouble getting my character across, and woke up in the middle of the night with this line on my mind:

(at a firing range)
"If Death has a penis,” she said, “it's a semi-automatic pistol. I just got him off fifteen times. I’m Death’s favorite girl.

I hope all the subbies took a good whipping this weekend, and all the Doms gave it to them with gusto. I'm enjoying a nice Espresso Con Panna right now. I'd offer you some, but my partner isn't here to fix it right now.

@LillianDevereux - Welcome to the AH Coffee Shop!
@Rustyoznail - thanks for the Bluey DollarBucks. I'm sure Amazon will accept them in payment ...

The tip jar is getting heavy (thanks everyone) so I'm going to order the cappuccino machine as soon as the plumber get done. For now, I have a fresh pot of coffee brewing and the teapot is hot for those who want a cuppa. There are plenty of pastries on the counter next to the tip jar to nosh on with your drink.

I'll be over in the corner if you need anything. My heroine has extricated herself from one situation but is unknowingly heading into another one. Oh, the drama ...

Wow, it's dead in here. The pastries are getting stale but there's a fresh pot of coffee brewing. Good night.

You get days like this.

Thanks for the coffee. The pastries still go well with it.

I just can't get going with a story here. I'm suffering from a severe case of puppius interuptous. He's a bit over 5 months old now, and he's settling down. Looking like a dog more than a puppy.

I have the feline version of that syndrome.

Beautiful day outside. Currently 72°, forecast to 80, wispy high clouds. Perfect sunburn weather. ;) Which is likely. I have trees to plant and two lawns to mow.

Still wrestling with my sports story. Bar scene at the team's hotel is getting totally out-of hand, so it's time to slash and burn.

The swans left four days ago, but the Canada Geese appear to be nesting. I've seen only one on the pond, which indirectly confirms that one is on the nest while the other gets food. They share nest-keeping-warm duties, but I can't tell them apart.

Our hopes of retiring to Northern New Mexico look like they're going up in smoke. C'est la vie.

Still waiting for the doctor to call and schedule the gel shot for my knee. While the pain isn't acute, it just wears on you and makes everything miserable. The only good thing about it is that I'm writing again. Maybe suffering is a good cure for writers block?

Excuse the noise as I've got the plumber in here today to put in the water lines needed for the new cappuccino machine that should be arriving next week. For now, I've got a fresh pot of coffee brewing and the teapot is hot. There are donuts on the counter next to the tip jar.

I'll be over in the corner writing away and grousing about my knee. Just a warning that if you come over and pull up a chair, you're going to get an earful about the health insurance industry ...

Thanks Candy. I need a fresh mug. The one I have tastes odd. I'm not sure if it's because I'm using a different milk, the machine needs a clean, or Covids coming back to give me another whack.
